Alexa Chung becomes the face of Lacoste’s new fragrance

Alexa Chung is no stranger to ad campaigns. However, she must be exceptionally proud of her latest signing.

The star has been announced as the new face of preppy brand Lacoste’s new fragrance. But what makes this extra special is that it’s the first time the brand has used a female celebrity face.

The perfume is set to launch in January next year and we can imagine the ads are going to be great. You only have to look at Alexa’s shoots for Pepe to know that.

We’ve been split on Ugg boots and similar ever since Lauren bought the fashion to light in her column. Looking at the comments we received and the number of you who Twittered, it seems there’s a divide between those of us who define them as trend and those who think they are tragic.

With London Fashion Week just around the corner, the excitement is building up to see what designers are planning out for us to wear next season.

If you’re a keen fashionista then you’ll already know New York fashion Week has been going for a few weeks now, and although we couldn’t be there to give you the latest news and reviews we have had a scout around to see what other people have to say.

We love this video, which shows Lacoste’s new season looks. As you will see, the brand known for being sporty and preppy has stuck closely with this style this season and we’re sure you’ll agree, they’ve done it well.

We love the white, netball skirt, which can be teamed up with a pair of plimsolls for the ultimate back to school sports look.

Counterfeit fashions–to buy or not to buy?

After the NYPD raid on Monday in Queens of $13 million dollars worth of counterfeit apparel of brands such as Polo, Lacoste, North Face, Rocawear, and Seven For All Mankind, it really made me think, How bad is it to buy a fake? This video, above, on how a counterfeit Louis Vuitton purse is brought into the U.S. is pretty interesting–minus the “We’re gonna get you, suckers!” Of course, though, it can be pretty irresistible sometimes to buy a faux handbag or sunglasses for $10 to $20, especially when the original costs $100 or more. But what I didn’t realize was that U.S. companies lose $200-250 billion a year and 750,000 Americans have lost their jobs because of counterfeit and piracy (according to the U.S. Chamber of Congress).
