Although Lara and David kept their wedding day quiet, they didn’t forget to send out invites to their star studded event.
The “dry” day, which was introduced as a result of Lara’s stint in rehab for alcholism last year, was attended by a range of celebs. Alan Carr and Natalie Imbruglia, Louise and Jamie Redknapp and Noel Gallagher and his pregnant partner Sara MacDonald all turned up to watch the couple toast their marriage with popcorn.
A big congrats to Lara Stone and now hubby David Walliams who tied the knot this weekend.
After a whirlwind romance the pair hurried down the aisle and into a reception at Clarigdes hotel yesterday.
Although we have yet to see the frock Lara wore for the ceremony, rumour has it and as we told you a while back, the bride wore a custom made cream lace corset dress, edged with golden chain by Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci.
However, the £30,000 dress didn’t stay on for too long as Lara decided to change into a mini-frock covered in gold and silver sequins, which was also by Riccardo Tisci for the reception.
Could Lara Stone be losing her Louis Vuitton campaign crown next season?
According to the fashion rumour mill the model du jour, who took over from Madonna, won’t be returning for the brand’s A/W 2010 range.
Instead the gossip grapevine is suggesting it will be Christy Turlington and Natalia Vodianova who will replace Lara.
A source for the brand said: “Steven Meisel will shoot the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Campaign featuring Christy Turlingtoand; Natalia Vodianova. Styling by Karl Temper.”
The rumour mill is in full swing this morning. First we heard whispers of a Lady Gaga sunglasses range and now the grapevine is buzzing with news that Lara Stone is the new face of Calvin Klein.
According to rumours the model du jour and bride-to-be is being signed up to be the face of the designer’s main collection as well as the Calvin Klein Jeans line and the cosmetics part of the brand too.
She would be stealing the Calvin Klein campaign crown from Jac Jablonski, who has fronted the collection for a couple of seasons and Eva Mendes who was the saucy face of the jeans brand this season. We’ll say it for the second time today: Watch this space.
A few weeks after Lara Stone announced her wedding dress designer would be Riccardo Tisci, supermodel Coco Rocha has said she’ll be enlisting the creative talents of Zac Posen for her frock.
We had thought the model, come designer would be designing her own dress but she confirmed the news on Twitter.
“Mr. Zac Posen is the best! I met with him to discuss wedding dress designs and immediately sketches were flying… So exciting!!,” she wrote on her page.
We can’t wait to see the design Coco chooses, and will her dress be better than Miss Stone’s?
We see a real life fashion bride wars coming up quite soon.
Lara Stone has barely been out of the spotlight this year due to her high profile campaigns for Louis Vuitton and a number of magazine spreads.
And her personal life has also caused huge waves with the model announcing her engagement to funny man David Walliams last month.
However, today she’s racking up the column inches for her modelling and acting work starring in the new advert for Versace’s Versus fragrance.
The 30-second clip shows her dancing in a room full of mirrors with flashing pink and purple lights in the background. Sounds like our ideal Friday night.
Many of us have a fashion icon that we look up to in some way or other. Sometimes its lusting over their hair, sometimes we want their eyes (not literally) and other times we wish we had their figures.
Love Magazine obviously agrees with us because for its third bi-annual edition its created eight different covers each showing a different model, who are claimed to represent our ideal of beauty in the fashion industry.
The models shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott include Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lara Stone, Jeneil Williams, Amber Valletta, Daria Werbowy, Kristen Mcmenamy and Natalia Vodianova.
Katie Grand, editor-in-chief at Love, told Vogue: “For this issue of LOVE, we took eight women who are generally acknowledged as the most beautiful in the world, got them to show off their bodies – widely regarded as the most perfect in the world – and photographed them all in exactly the same position for the cover.
“We did this to show how much they differed physically from one another, which is why we also printed their measurements.”
The gossip dust has barely settled following the news of David Walliams’ and Lara Stone’s engagement, but that hasn’t stopped the couple from making more plans.
And this time it’s babies.
Just before they flew back to London from Brazil, Lara told the Mirror: “I want to have a family and be a good wife. I want a family soon.”
Many men may have bulked at this quick turnaround but thankfully for Lara, David has previously expressed his desire for children.
“I’d like three,” he said.
“A little gang.”
We’re sure with Lara’s modelling genes and David’s good looks the children will be beautiful whenever the couple decide to have them.
It’s been a week of model engagements. Earlier this week Kate Moss announced she was engaged to beau Jamie Hince and today the rumour mill is going into overdrive with news that Little Britain comedian David Walliams has proposed our model du jour Lara Stone.
The couple who have been together for 4 months announced their engagement this week after David received the blessing from Lara’s parents.
Ever wondered how a big ad campaign comes together? Well take a look at this video with behind the scenes footage for Lara Stone’s shoot for Louis Vuitton.
It was only last month we showed you the gorgeous pictures of the star who took over from Madonna as the face of the brand, and many of you agreed she looked stunning.
We love seeing how a shoot comes together from the selection of clothing to the hair and make-up and, in this case the birds. And we promise this video does not disappoint.
Lady Gaga has been one of 2009 hottest stars and it seems she’ll be continuing her press domination in 2010.
Last week Polaroid announced her position as its new creative director and this week it seems the Lady herself has taken the power reigns.
According to the gossip grapevine, or in this case The Sun, she’s set her sights on Lara Stone, to appear in her next music video of upcoming single Alejandro. Although details are still a little bit shaky, we’ve gathered that the face of Louis Vuitton is number one on Lady Gaga’s casting list, and if it happens we think it’ll be an excellant collaboration.
However, there’s also some bad news for Miss Gaga today with claims that designer Mark Fast has refused to lend the singer any of his creations. According to reports in Metro News, Mr Fast said this was over concerns that his designs would be overshadowed by the singer.
“I love her music and that Bad Romance song is stuck in my head all the time, but we don’t necessarily have to accept everyone just because they are famous,” he said.
“‘My work is about a lifestyle. It’s not fast-food fashion. It’s not about trends, it’s about classic, it’s about the body, it’s about beauty. Maybe that gets lost in the picture with certain celebrities.”
Now after the Antonio Berardi debate, we’re not sure we should believe everything we read so we’ll be trying to get hold of Mark’s people to get the full story. Keep reading for the latest updates.
Lara Stone shows she’s a model to be reckoned with in this short black and white film for Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
The gorgeous model, who has been criticised for “being too fat”, shows stylists don’t really know what they’re talking about as she and male model Baptiste Giabiconi act out a scenario where they play PVC clad thieves robbing Chanel boutiques.
You can watch the video, called Vol de Jour below.
It seems as though our rage against size zero models is set to continue today, with news that Lara Stone still gets criticised for being a bigger model.
The size 8 stunner who used to refer to herself as “the fat one,” before accepting her size, told Vogue: “People still tell me I’m fat, but when I look in the mirror, that’s not what I see.”
Lara may be a healthy cut above the rest of the size zero models and with a range of successful modelling campaigns under her belt including her latest venture with Louis Vuitton, you’d think the industry would be proud to have such an inspiration. However the skinny tunnel vision of stylists and designers still haunt her.
She told Vogue: “It’s depressing when the clothes don’t fit and you are always the odd one out…I was on a shoot last week and the stylist took out this tight corset dress and said, ‘Here, put it on,’ and I was like, ‘Who are you kidding?’ There was no way, so that was very rude of her. It’s like, come on, she’s a woman; whether you’re buying jeans at the mall, or wearing couture, you know what it’s like for clothes not to fit. It’s not an easy kind of rejection, because it’s very personal. It’s you, you’re body. You take it personally.”
We’ve been really excited about seeing Louis Vuitton’s SS2010 campaign ever since we reported that the designer had ditched Madonna in favour of younger model Lara Stone.
And it seems the waiting has paid off. Lara, really gives the brand a completely different look, posing in various outfits amongst grass and leaves and really making it feel fresh and alive. Sorry Madonna but we don’t think this is a look you could have pulled off.
Speaking about the brands new model, Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s communications director, said: “After two seasons with such a huge star, Marc [Jacobs] decided to take a breather and work with a model – and not just any model. It’s the choice of a new supermodel.”
Model Lara Stone is clearly putting her stamp on the fashion world.
She’s been signed up as the face of Louis Vuitton and now we’ve come across this gorgeous fashion shoot she’s done for the December edition of UK Vogue.
Shot by Mario Testino, Lara wears a range of satin, silk and feathered ball gowns with fitted bodices, which we think really brings home what Christmas party outfits are all about.
We can’t wait to get hold of a copy, but here’s a few of the pictures to keep you going until then.
