Sarah harding dressed in her festival gear, stepped out for the O2 Wirless Festival in London Hyde Park to watch stars including Lily Allen, who opted for a white Hareem style jumpsuit, to perform.

Across the London Kelly Osbourne was spotted leaving Nobu in a preppy get up consisting of green cropped trousers and a pink blazer style jacket. She teamed up the look with socks and flat shoes.

However it’s Fearne Cotton who gets our “Spotted” fashion prize looking gorgeous in on-trend denim shorts, a boho top and gladiators on her way to work. Only she can look that good on a Monday morning.

Gallery: Cheryl Cole, Nicole Richie and Fearne Cotton at the Glamour Women of The Year Awars

By Andrea Petrou on June 9th, 2010

It was another star studded night (honestly we don’t know celebs do it) as A-listers hit London’s Berkeley Square Gardens for the Glamour Women of The Year awards.

Abigail Clancy made the most of her footie boyfriend’s absence, turning up to the event in a stunning blue jumpsuit with piping detail around the plunging neckline. She completed the look with a skinny belt. Cheryl Cole also wowed in a soft pink beaded short dress complete with a little train while Radio Personality of the Year – Fearne Cotton – went for big and billowing with a red chiffon short dress.

She was joined in this trend by pregnant Rachel Stevens and Lily Allen who channelled this look with a black dress complete with big sleeves.

UK TV Actress of the Year, Billie Piper, kept it simple in a gorgeous black long dress and Florence Welch, who won band of the year, went for a striking LBD.

Nicole Richie who was Entrepreneur of the Year also wins our best dressed award with her nude long fistail frock.

See our gallery for the best dressed of the night.

ShinyStyle first looks: Chanel Coco Cocoon collection with Vanessa Paradis

By Andrea Petrou on May 17th, 2010

On Friday we here at ShinyStyle were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of Chanel‘s latest Coco Cocoon bag collection, which hit stores over the weekend.

The famous range, which this year comprises of the signature padded style we’ve all grown to love, has been updated with furs, different colour linings and of course a new face. Gone is Lily Allen and in her place comes Vanessa Paradis.

The model and actress is of course no stranger to the brand. In 2004 Karl Lagerfeld appointed her as the ambassadress of the “Ligne Cambon” handbags. The following year, the designer asked her to pose again, this time for the “New Mademoiselle” bags.
And now she’s been picked for the “Coco Cocoon” handbags line.

View the gallery for a few of the new styles and Vanessa’s ad campaign.

Lily Allen to star in her own fashion TV show

By Andrea Petrou on April 26th, 2010

Thumbnail image for Lily Corsett.jpg

She may have hung up her mic, but Lily Allen hasn’t disappeared from our radars especially when it comes to the fashion scene.

The singer who is taking a break from her music to open a fashion boutique called Lucy In Disguise, with her sister, has just announced that she will be allowing Channel 4 cameras to record her as she makes her first steps into the fashion world.

And just in case you were worried that this was once again another rumour, we have it in erm, writing.

A C4 spokeman told The Metro: “It is happening.

“The name and how many shows there will be is still undecided. It is due to go out early next year.”

Are you as excited as we are? Let us know by leaving your comments below.

Brits special: The Body and Jump suit trend

By Andrea Petrou on February 17th, 2010
The Brit Awards - Show

Body and jump suits have been a big trend stakes for a good few months now with every highstreet store and designer offering these up as key items.

So it’s no surprise that they were a favourite with yesterday’s Brit attendees.

The Brit Awards - Show

Lady Gaga chose to go with this trend donning a white bodysuit scattered with lace for her onstage performance. She was followed by Alicia Keyes who opted for a more demure black sparkly jumpsuit for her duet with Brit winner Jayz.

The Brit Awards - Show

Cheryl Cole also stripped off her mac to reveal a plain, yet striking black hooded bodysuit, which she accessoried with a highwaisted belt, when she sang her popular “Fight for this Love” single onstage.

However we think the best bodysuit crown goes to Lily Allen whose black outfit, complete with on-trend lace sleeves, really made a huge impression.

We just wish we could carry off this look as well as these celebrities.

Brits Special: Lily Allen goes gothic but later dons an orange wig

By Andrea Petrou on February 17th, 2010
Lily Allen attends the Brit Awards

It seems wigs were the accessory du jour at last night’s Brit awards, with Lily Allen following Lady Gaga’s steps with this trend.

The “Smile” singer looked stunning on the red carpet in a long black PVC frock, which, teamed up with the red detailing across the front and Lily’s heavy eye make-up really gave a gothic look.

The Brit Awards - Show

The star kept the PVC theme going for her stage performance donning a bodysuit with lace sleeves, before slipping into something more demure for the rest of the evening.

However, the main surprise to her look was the orange wig she had on when she went up to collect her award for British Female Solo Artist. She later explained that she had put this on because she didn’t want to be spotted by the photographers scanning the room when she lost.

Lily Allen wears underwear as outerwear but would you follow the trend?

By Andrea Petrou on January 22nd, 2010

Lily Corsett.jpgWe’ve been banging on about underwear as outerwear for a while now, and we’ll be reviewing a corset set later on next week, after we’ve attempted to wear it as outerwear in a few clubs.

However, we’re still not 100% sure about the trend, which is has previously been sported by the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Britney Spears.

And these new pictures showing Lily Allen performing in a corset top made for underwear haven’t done much to settle our fashion minds.

The pop starlet, who is no stranger to this style, wore a tiny lace-covered corset, teamed with Chanel mock-stockings for a gig in Australia and although she pulls it off better than some celebs we still don’t know what to make of it.

What do you think about this trend? Does it work and would you wear it or do you think undies should remain firmly out of site? Let us know by leaving your comments below.

Lily Allen announces she’s opening up a boutique

By Andrea Petrou on December 3rd, 2009

Lily A.jpgIt was only earlier this week when we predicted Lily Allen would venture into fashion, and, we’re pleased to say we were right.

The singer, who has previously designed a range for New Look and had an input in Chanel’s creations, as well as a range of modelling jobs under her belt, announced to today on Radio 1 that she will not be performing for a few years so she can concentrate on opening a boutique.

Lily told Sara Cox that she will be working with her sister and plans to open a store called Lucy In Disguise, which aims to make designer labels more accessible to cash strapped fashionistas.

The idea behind it is that we’ll be able to visit the store, choose a look and hire it out.

“It’s about getting really nice clothes but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won’t cost them a million dollars,” Lily said.

We think it’s a fantastic idea.

Lily Allen shot by Karl Lagerfeld for Russian Elle magazine

By Andrea Petrou on November 30th, 2009

Rumours about Lily Allen leaving the music industry have been lingering around the gossip scene like the smell of milk left out of the fridge for too long.

Despite Lily not making them official, she has furthered fuelled the rumour fire by making her name for herself in fashion, most notably her partnership with Chanel.

So we’re hardly surprised that she appears in Russian Elle Magazine next month styled top to toe in the designer’s creations. The shoot was also shot by none other than Lily’s new BBF Karl Lagerfeld.

Again, we think she looks stunning in natural make-up and a range of outfits including a striped top, ruffle shirt and tight blazer.

Lily Allen poses with Karl Lagerfeld for Elle

By Andrea Petrou on November 23rd, 2009

Lily.jpgLily Allen is no stranger to fashion creation and we imagine has the number of a few of those top designers in her little black book (or mobile phone).

So we’re hardly surprised that the singer has been snapped for next month’s Elle Magazine next to Karl Lagerfeld. Afterall she did help design the Coco Cocoon, an understated new collection of featherweight quilted handbags and travel accessories for Chanel.

We love the black and white contrast of this picture and as always Lily looks fantastic in tight trousers and ankle length boots.

Chanel, Lily Allen and Karl Lagerfeld’s fashion love affair

By lotte on November 2nd, 2009

You may have already seen the latest Chanel campaign featuring Lily Allen: in it, Lily poses with a series of male models, flaunting the new ‘Coco Cocoon’ range of accessories. Her bouffant and big sunglasses are reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in some of the images, while fingerless gloves and a leather blazer cut a more sexy figure in others. In fact, Lily’s outfits feature a few of a certain Mr Lagerfeld’s signature looks – minus the white hair, of course.

Lily certainly looks classy – but some have claimed she’s not classy enough for the 100-year-old fashion brand. Designer Karl Lagerfeld has chosen her as his latest muse, and Lily even performed on the catwalk at the latest Chanel show in Paris. She appeared from beneath the floor of the farm-themed catwalk! Watch the video below for her performance – Lily pops up at 1:24.

We think Lily’s perfect for Chanel. She’s come a long way from when she first appeared on the scene in her hip-hop-meets-prom-queen look, and she looks fantastic in the elegant, timeless clothes, while bringing a bit of youthful edge to them. Now if only she could make her mind up about whether she wants to carry on making music – or even if she likes the internet.

Lily Allen shines in this inpromptu Gio Goi photoshoot

By Andrea Petrou on September 17th, 2009

Lily.jpgPicture the scene, you’re all snuggled up in your casual tracksuit bottoms with no make up on and a photographer turns up at your door for an impromptu photoshoot.

Now I’m not sure about you but I’d panic and find the nearest window to escape from.

Thankfully not all of us are so vain because when Gio Goi owner Anthony Donelly turned up at Lily Allen’s fathers home the duo set up an impromptu photoshoot.

Using the house and surrounding countryside as locations for the shoot Lily posed in a range of clothing. We’re sure you’ll agree the last minute notice has created an amazingly relaxed range of photos and some also reportedly featured Lily clutching a pint in her hand.

By Andrea Thatcher on June 4th, 2008

lilly allen copy.jpg

While we’re all for Lily Allen’s Editor’s Special Award at the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards, but we’re not so sure about her Giles Deacon spring ’08 deer print dress … or the shoes … or the hair.

What do you think? Does she pull of the punk bridal look, yay or nay?

London Fashion Week: Luella

By Andrea Thatcher on February 15th, 2008

luellalfwa-w091.jpg

We’ve been looking forward to the report from Luella, and it sounds like Catwalk Queen has been too. The uber-cool Brit label, now back showing in London for a second season, attracted an enviable front row of London town’s coolest kids for her show this morning. Kelly Osbourne, Alexa Chung, Lily Allen, the Stewart sisters, Jaime Winston and KT Tunstall were all present at the Claridge’s ballroom and mostly decked out in the label’s spring/summer collection.

Despite the first few outfits appearing rather witchy, CQ was informed that the official influences for the season were ’70s skateboard films and bad-ass Brit schoolgirls (think more St Trinian’s than Grange Hill).

For the full story and more on London fashion week, head over to Catwalk Queen.
