I love Michelle Williams. Everything about the way that she dresses sums up what is so great about fashion and dressing today – from the boyish androgyny of her chic crop to her ladylike dresses and quirky accessories that she teams together, she’s everything a modern fashion-loving woman should be.
She’s had an extremely difficult time over the past few years, following the death of her estranged husband Heath Ledger, but ever since she’s always been incredibly brave and put her best well-shod foot forward. A favourite moment of ours has to be that Erdem dress that she wore at the London Film festival this year, hot off the catwalks – it had originally been a minidress, but clever Michelle asked for hers to be altered for a more ladylike skirt length, and TA-DA! Fashion magic happened. It’s that innovative strive for perfection and creativity that we love about her.
Nude, romance, ruffles, studs, bows and lace – all massive trends at the moment, especially now that it’s party season, and Michelle Williams is our poster-girl when it comes to getting these looks down. Check out the gallery below for some of our favourite of her looks, and pieces to help you steal her style.

We must say goodbye to the Cannes Film Festival and all the subsequent red carpets for another year. But first one final roundup.
Milla Jovovich is seen here at the premiere of “What Just Happened?”. The bright color of her gown is certainly on trend, but might be a bit too much combined with all the details on the dress.

While Elle magazine made a last minute switch and put Natalie Portman on their cover instead of the grieving Michelle Williams, the Williams feature and photo spread still appear in the April issue.
“They were so sweet together,” Ang Lee, who directed Williams and the late Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain, told the magazine. “I ran into Heath at the Venice Film Festival, and he told me about the split. I just felt so sad. I didn’t know what to say to him. They made a great effort.”

The New York Film Festival is in full swing and we’re seeing some great fashion at premieres and parties. Above we have Jennifer Hudson in a figure-flattering halter dress at New Line Cinema’s 40th Anniversary Gala at the Lincoln Center. Next we have an adorable Michelle Williams at the premiere of “I’m Not There.” Sporting a short bob with a short dress, her peep-toe slingbacks complete the look. Her costar in the film, Cate Blanchette manages not to look matronly next to the sprite, but elegant and sophisticated in a drape-neck dress. For more New York happenings check out New York Cool.
