Michelle Smith’s Milly collection was a complete throwback to the 1960′s. The models strutted down the runway in yellow, purple and green. The flowy dresses and tops were made of chiffon and tie-dyed to reflect an era that designers seem to replicate often.

Milly designer Michelle Smith is said to be searching for an Upper East Side space for her first retail store.
The former Hermès, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton intern has been churning out lovable prints since 2000 and is excited to give her customers a shopping destination.
Naomi Watts wore this dress from the Derek Lam Spring 2008 runway to the “Eastern Promises” premier at the London Film Festival and landed herself on Vogue’s best dressed list. It reminded us of the Milly dress Leighton Meester wore as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. Find out more after the jump.
Prints popped and preppy prevailed at the Milly by Michelle Smith fashion show. The designer’s Connecticut roots were apparent in the cable cardigans delicately draped over shoulders and looks best suited to tennis or drinks at the club. The palette was kept simple in mostly white, navy, green and yellow. It would be easy to emulate this look with a quick trip to your local departments store’s Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren sections. Michelle’s Paris and New York inspirations were a little harder to glimpse. But, the collection was very wearable and features some sophisticated silhouettes in graphic prints that were truly lovely.
