Milan Fashion Week highlights: Moschino

By Andrea Petrou on September 24th, 2010

Moschino picked up where Prada left off this morning sending models down the runway in banana yellows and block stripes.

50s style skirts in bright blues, reds and monochrome prints paraded down the catwalk, while cropped jeans with white blouses as well as tailored sailor style suits kept in with this theme. The talented designer also gave a nod to the cowgirl theme with rouched checked maxi dresses, cowboy boots and large straw hats.

However, our favourite outfit of the collection has got to be a short, Mexican style dress complete with a bodice top.

We’re saving all our pennies from now.

Dita Von Teese teams up with Moschino to design an eye mask for charity.

By Andrea Petrou on February 4th, 2010

Another famous figure has put their designing hat on for charity and this time it’s Dita Von Teese. The burlesque dancer has teamed up with Moschino to create a luxurious eye mask with 30% of the proceeds from each one going to amfAR, a charity that funds AIDS Research.

The handy sleeping accessory is made out of silk-satin with a spotted lack overlay and pictures of eyelashes we can only dream about as well as the words ‘Dita for Moschino’ in rhinestones.

We think its a perfect way to look good while you’re sleeping, and a great way to shut out any light or disturbances. We just wish someone would think about creating some designer earplugs to match.

Buy the mask exclusively from Moschino now for £100.

Pixie Lott to design two ranges of clothing for Lipsy

By Andrea Petrou on January 29th, 2010

It seems that celebrities are becoming as famous for designing than they are their other trade with many jumping in on a number of designer and highstreet collaborations. The latest in this long line is Pixie Lott.

Having already designed a range of charity T-shirts for River Island and Moschino, the kooky singer has now been asked to design two ranges of clothing for glam highstreet retailer Lipsy.

And it seems she’s thrilled: “I love what Lipsy stands for and I am very excited at the thought of working with such a talented and creative team. It’s going to be great fun,” she said.

The star will create two lines for the brand. Pixie Festival will concentrate on vintage type dresses and denim and Pixie Party will go the complete other way giving us a range of animal prints and studs.

Pixie Lott designs a charity t-shirt for Moschino

By Andrea Petrou on November 13th, 2009

pixie-lott-moschino-1258066644.jpgOver the past few months we’ve reported on a number of collaborations between celebrities and high street stores, who joined to design various ranges for charity.

Next to do her good deed is Pixie Lott. Not content with designing a charity t-shirt for River Island, the popstarlet has gone back to the design board, this time teaming up with Moschino to design a limited edition T-shirt.

Her grey tee features a graffiti design of lyrics from her songs and all profits made will be donated to the Perthes Association, a charity that supports families and children suffering from Perthes’ disease and The Italia Conti Trust.

The T-shirt will available exclusively on the Moschino virtual boutique from mid November and we think the £85 price tag is more than worth it.

Yay or Nay Wednesday: jumpsuits

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on January 21st, 2009

Moschino jumpsuit.jpg

It was one thing when pop stars started wearing short jumpsuits ironically (Katie Perry) and then starlets started wearing them to show off their bodies (Blake Lively) but now the long 70′s jumpsuit is back?

Moschino Cheap & Chic, shown, was just one spring 09 collection that included long, flowy jumpsuits as the new take on the maxidress.

What do you think? Is this an awesome revival or something best left in the time capsule? Yay or Nay?

Moschino sandal: yay or nay?

By Elaine LaPersonerie on September 19th, 2007

It’s a sandal right? Or a pump? Actually, maybe it’s a slingback! Oh no wait, it must be an open toed sha-bootie! Actually, now I’m really confused. What IS this? This “what is it?” style can be found in every store and I’m just not in love! For example, this gray Moschino pair is being described as a “sandal” and is available for $440 at Nordstrom. But it’s a hefty investment for a shoe that is still searching for an identity. What do you say? Yay or Nay?
