Jessica Biel turns up for the A-team premier while Kylie Minogue dresses up for AmfAR

By Andrea Petrou on June 4th, 2010

While celebrities were partying the night away and enjoy the day’s sunshine in the UK, their A-list US counterparts were also donning their glad rags for two star studded events.

Jessica Biel turned up for the A-Team premier in a long white Grecian style dress complete with black lace panelling across the belly.

Minnie Driver also graced the red carpet in a black shift dress, and although sh tried to give this a quirky twist with just one sleeves we’re not entirely sure it worked, looking more like she’d been in a fight and had it ripped off rather than being styled this way.

US TV presenter Samantha Harris made a sunny appearance in a yellow asymmetic frock complete with a cute skinny belt.

Over in New York Kylie Monogue opted for a gorgeous black asymmetric dress complete with a PVC shrug for the 2010 amfAR New York Inspiration Gala held at the Public Library.

She was joined by singer Estelle who also opted for a black coat to make her entrance and Cyndi Lauper who also went for a LBD. Tinsley Mortimer however went for a brighter outfit opting for a gorgeous nude layered and white frock.

Lady Gaga suffers from stage fright during her Oprah appearance

By Andrea Petrou on May 6th, 2010

It seems Lady Gaga is not the tough cookie we had her down for.

After admitting to suffering from bouts of insomnia a few months back, it’s now come to light that the singer also has a mild dose of stage fright.

According to US sources the star refused to walk the red carpet at the Met ball (although her sequined nearly nude playsuit, which she performed in, wouldn’t have screamed shy to us) and then locked herself in her dressing room before appearing on Oprah.

A source told the New York Post: “She literally wouldn’t come out.”

After friends and music execs failed to coax her out artist Terence Koh and Oprah tried and succeeded in getting the star on-stage.

And it seems the stagefright was short-lived. When Gaga got on stage, she told the 700 guests that co-host Anna Wintour had asked her not to swear – which she did anyway. Glad to see you got your fight back Miss G.

Gallery: Best dressed at the YSL New York premiere of Rossini’s Armida

By Andrea Petrou on April 13th, 2010

The stars once again donned their best frocks last night and hit the red carpet to celebrate the New York premiere of Rossini’s Armida at The Metropolitan Opera House, which judging by the fashion pieces on show, was aptly sponsored by YSL.

Maggie Gyllanhaal wowed in her on-trend nude frock complete with YSL heels, while Chloe Sevigny took a gamble on a love it or loathe it jumpsuit, which we think she pulled off brilliantly.

However our winner of the night has got to be Camilla Belle who really took the red carpet look to the next level with her YSL chiffon frock complete with an onversized on-trend bow.

View the gallery below and tell us who your best dressed of the night is.

By Andrea Petrou on March 26th, 2010

Emma Watson flew the fashion flag for Brit girl’s abroad last night when she attended the London Show Rooms initiative event in New York last night.

The Harry Potter actress and all-round fashion role model co hosted the event, which aims to help raise the profile of London designers in the States, alongside Sarah Mower the British Fashion Council’s Ambassador for Emerging Talent.

And she definitely proved she was worthy to be in our best dressed Brit gallery yesterday, wearing a lace and leather dress from Christopher Kane‘s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection.

We think she’s definitely got magic style.

How to quell your “Sex and the City” cravings until the film is released

By Andrea Thatcher on September 7th, 2007

While we wait for more news of the Sex and the City film (supposedly set to start shooting in New York very, very soon with the full cast back in high-heeled action), supplement your thirst for more outrageous outfits on Carrie and Samantha with Sex and the City costume designer Patricia Field’s own Web site. On her site, Field’s blogs, sells clothing and highlights items that fit into one of six categories: Sexpot Style, Rock and Roll, Ghetto Fabulous, Fun & Flirty, Evening Glam, and Downtown Daylook. My favorite piece from her picks was the Judy Rosen Shorts Jumper (US$264), a Ghetto Fabulous look.

Saks Fifth Avenue unveiled its expanded designer shoe department this August, inviting shoe enthusiasts to browse with ease on a floor that reportedly has its own zip code. The flagship store in New York City is dazzling shoppers with attractive displays—over 100,000 designer pairs in inventory—along with luxe amenities such as private shopping appointments, rotating pedestals, and plenty of space to try on a few (dozen) pairs at your leisure. It’s a trip to shoe heaven for any well-heeled enthusiast, and you’ll find more than just the average collections at this ritzy emporium. Accessories and refreshments await on the eighth floor—from Dior to Christian Louboutin—it’s too soon to tell if you might need a traveler’s map to find your way around.
