Joel Madden seems to let his design aesthetic follow his lifestyle. His first line, consisting mostly of T-shirts, under the Madden name was just rock and roll gear sold out of a van or at merch tables at the concerts his band Good Charlotte played. Then as he and brother/guitar player Benji started hitting the Hollywood circuit and playing disco (ahem, selling out, what?) they developed the more expansive DCMA Collective line. Now that he’s having a baby with girlfriend Nicole Richie, they’re designing baby clothes. Catwalk Queen has all the details.
So I’ve come to realize that whenever I go shopping for “everyday” and work-related kinds of clothes, I find myself always being drawn toward the low-cut, scandal-inducing shirts that I tend to sport on Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday nights. So, I’ve come up with a little solution that kills two birds with one stone and helps me get double use of all my new semi-scandalous types. Basically, I just put a white or black tank top or t-shirt underneath one of my scantily clad weekend shirts and voila! – still stylish but now acceptable to wear to any business-casual office or during the day.
It’s also even a great idea to wear a beater (or WB, as I like to call them) underneath a backless or low cut top at night if you, like myself, absolutely refuse to go bra-less. Nicole Richie is infamous for rocking a t-shirt under her tops.
Nicole Richie has long been known for her superb sense of style. And this YouTube video seems to document every single outfit she’s ever worn! Check out this fashion diva’s many looks up close–from hair to makeup to handbags, shoes, and jewelry. I love all the cuff bracelets she wears, as well as her fabulous handbag collection!
From J. Lo to Christina Aguilara to Halle Berry to Nicole Richie, celebs in-the-know are sporting that all important accessory of the season: the baby bump. It seems like celebs are getting preggers in droves, fueling a whole new stylish look of maternity wear. J. Lo wears this chic, one-shoulder dress in leopard, the hottest print of the season. It seems as though pregnant celebs are favoring the flowy frock look rather than going for traditional maternity wear. The cool thing about the diaphanous dress styles this season is that you can wear them while pregnant, making you one haute mama.
Hats really take things to the next level. They are fun, trendy and super sexy—but only when done the right way. So, leave the trucker hat in the back of your Ford pick-up and your cowboy hat home on the range (I know you’re much more sophisticated than that anyway). This season, go for classics like the fedora, pork pie, trilby or derby—styles sure to keep you lookin’ mighty fine. Personally, I’m in love with this midnight blue panama fedora adorned with a navy/white stitch bow trim from Still Life. It’s chic but makes a strong statement and will easily compliment something dressy or casual. Check out more from Still Life or pop into one of the retail locations listed on their site. Maybe you’ll even end up rockin’ the same hat as one of their celebrity clients—Joel Madden, Nicole Richie or Fall Out Boy.
Take a look at Britney Spears on the cover of US Weekly. She went from Haute Mama to Hot Mess with her oversized sunglasses and headscarf. Nicole Richie is also working the headscarf and oversized sunglasses look. A little accessorizing is cool, but these otherwise pretty girls are covering up their beauty with way too much of a good thing.
