Sporty style spotlight: Olympic 2012 athlete Jessica Ennis

By Andrea Petrou on August 2nd, 2012

With the Olympics dominating our TV screens, and causing a buzz around Britain, we thought it only fair that we paid tribute to some of our country’s young athletes.

And what better way than to look at their style – we are after all a fashion site.
To kick start this mini series we’ve decided today to focus on Olympic heptathlete Jessica Ennis.

Modelling the official team GB Adidas kit designed by Stella McCartney, it’s easy to see why Jessica was chosen as the ambassador for Olay earlier this year.

On the track Jessica wears what you’d expect, but away from the sporting spotlight her style emulates elegance.

Keeping to a classic look Jessica opts for below the knee to tea length frocks, while daring slinky dresses are given sleeves to keep in with this trend.

In our opinion this look may be a little old for Jess whose stunning figure lends itself to shorter and high fashion trends, however, it seems to be perfect for keeping it with Olay’s target audience.

See the gallery below for Jessica’s style file.

Get your Make-up Ready For Summer

By alanamcverry on April 20th, 2010

The current spate of sunshine suggests, although summer might not be here yet, it’s on its way, and it’s given us a preview trailer. Though must of us have become adept at changing our clothes in response to the weather, it seems many often believe make-up to be an all year round kind of thing. If you are still clinging to the 3 inches of foundation and smoky eyes that got you through the Christmas party season I suggest you read carefully, you still have time to make the adjustments slowly.

A day rarely passes without a celebrity endorsement announcement and today is no different.

Olay has announced that Thandie Newton will be the face of their Total Effects range and will also appear in the new advertising campaign to celebrate the brand’s tenth year in the UK.

Thandie told our fashion friends over at Grazia magazine: ‘When filming, my working day is hectic, so trying to strike a balance between work, a family and time for myself can be challenging….Olay is a brand I trust and I love the fact that the range offers me an all-in-one, anti-ageing moisturiser which takes care of all my skincare needs.’

Olay also seem to be pleased with their new recruit. It said in a statement: “Thandie’s pragmatic approach to a beauty routine ensures her skincare is as multi-tasking as she is.”
