Christmas party dress inspiration from the red carpet premieres of New Year’s Eve and W.E

By Andrea Petrou on December 6th, 2011

If you’re looking for inspiration for that Christmas party outfit then this week’s red carpet events will give you just that.

Yesterday a huge host of A-listers turned up on the New Year’s Eve premiere red carpet in a range of frocks. Lea Michele shone in a stunning off-white long frock- perfect for more formal occasions – while Fergie and Hilary Swank went for embellished short numbers, which we think are perfect for that night out on the tiles.

Over on the W.E premiere red carpet Madonna sported the skinny jeans and blazer, which is a perfect alternative for frock fearing ladies, while Chloe Sevigny showed how to vamp up a Christmas party outfit in a red dress.

See the gallery below for more Christmas party frock inspiration.

Designer Party Dress of the Week: Sheri Bodell Siren dress

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on December 16th, 2008

Designer Party Dress 16.jpg

This is probably your last week to buy a party dress online, and you already might be paying a bit extra for shipping if you want to wear what you’re buying on Christmas. Since Shopbop ships items within one business day of your order, you should be fine if you want to order this Sheri Bodell Siren dress, $568.

We love the artfully arrange sequin embellishments on this short, strapless style. It’s definitely glam enough for New Year’s Eve without being all-out bling (so over).

Bargain Party Dress of the Week: Crossover-Waist Frock and friends and family discount at Macy’s

By Andrea Thatcher on December 12th, 2008

Bargain Party Dress of the Week.jpg

I recently got a fabulous deal on a green chiffon Tahari Christmas dress at Macy’s ($160 down to $30 thankyouverymuch) and so I want everyone to find a fabulous dress there! So that’s one reason I’m featuring the London Times Sleeveless Crossover-Waist Dress, $110, as our bargain party dress of the week.

Sure, it’s a LBD, but the shimmering charmeuse, crossover and pin tucking make it so much more!

The other reason I’m featuring it? Now through Monday Macy’s is extending their 20% employee discount to friends and family when you use this coupon:

Urban Outfitters Lux You Got the Silver dress

By Andrea Thatcher on December 19th, 2007

Urban%20Outfitters%20silver%20dress.jpg

There have been a lot of sparkly dresses out this season, but we absolutely love this one from Urban Outfitters. And there’s not an unfinished hem to be found, imagine that! While it has a shift shape, we think the high seam at the bustline will be super flattering. And it will allow you to eat up a few more appetizers to soak up all that champagne on New Year’s Eve – which would be the perfect occasion to wear this pretty dress! It’s $175, but maybe it will go on sale after Christmas?
