Check out Lindsay Lohan’s latest cover for Vogue España‘s August issue. The actress has surprised many, myself included, when she decided to don a Marilyn Monroe platinum wig again to channel the screen icon for the glossy shoot. After her previous disaster, when she recreated Monroe’s “The Last Sitting” for NY Magazine, you can’t help but wonder why?
No doubt she’ll cop even more flack for this latest effort, although having now seen the finished results I’m not quite so dark on her. For example, the image (above, right) where she is dressed in Thierry Mugler is actually quite fierce. Almost Gaga-inspired.
We are used to seeing her donning her Sixties retro full-skirted frocks and Stepford Wife pearls for Mad Men, but the real-life January Jones is anything but. The actress is Elle‘s August ’09 cover girl as shot by Mariano Vivanco. Screen queen Kate Winslet has landed herself another glossy cover, this time for US Harper’s Bazaar’s August ’09 issue. The Oscar-winning actress was photographed by Peter Lindbergh suspended on a tower with New York acting as the stunning backdrop. For the shoot, she dons Burberry, Michael Kors, and Yves Saint Laurent. I just love that white floaty Ralph Lauren dress on her (above right) don’t you?
It is another nod to Madonna, with a hint of Gwen Stefani in this latest cover for V magazine, starring Cameron Diaz. The actress steps out of comfort-zone for an edgy photo-shoot taken by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Reminiscent of Madge’s iconic True Blue phase, Cam experiments with short peroxide hair, fake tattoos and cone bra fashioned out of gaffer tape.
Andre Leon Talley once said that she should be a model, and ended up recruiting her for a national TV spot. Although it resulted in her falling on her backside in front of millions of morning show viewers, Whitney Port certainly has what it takes to step onto the runway.
Emma Watson is on fire at the moment! Not the least of her accomplishments is the August ’09 cover of Teen Vogue. The Harry Potter starlet is having a bumper month with a new campaign for Burberry and a rumored fashion range for UNICEF. For her latest high-fashion stint, she models a variety of designs including a puffy-shouldered plum blouse and floral skirt by Dolce & Gabbana (above).

It seems that Rihanna cover for Vogue is in jeopardy in the aftermath of those nude photos of her and Chris Brown that were recently leaked onto the internet.
The singing superstar was approached by Anna Wintour to star in an upcoming issue of the glossy mag. They were reportedly “thick as thieves” at the Met Costume Gala last month.
“Anna told her Vogue absolutely loves her and really wanted to work with her. Rihanna was ecstatic,” a source told Star magazine.
However, it is now believed that the editrix has retracted her offer in response to the photos that were allegedly taken by Brown, although he denies it.
“Anna hasn’t returned any of her calls. Rihanna’s so upset… She hopes the people at Vogue change their minds,” the source added.
And so their turbulent relationship has cost Rihanna again. Shame!
TV Guide has a video of their photo shoot with Christina Applegate for the Dec. 24 double issue, which you can watch above. You get to see lots more of her gorgeous Zuhair Murad dress. Christina Applegate has worn the designer in the past, at the Tony’s, and so may have had something to do with the selection. The Lebanese designer has a large Middle Eastern following, and is best known in the US for designing Jenna Fischer’s dress for the recent Emmy’s (fortunately or not, your call).
I think a lot of times when we’re going to go for color, we try to keep the style simple. Or if we’re wearing sequins, we feel most comfortable in black. Well, when Rihanna shot her cover for Teen Vogue all those rules went out the window. America’s Next Top Model on the CW (or ANTM) gets crazy for fashion this week. Bianca talked down to Heather about having Aspergers, which was totally not cool. But Heather got a makeover and some acceptance from the other girls (finally). At the ‘Fashion Madhouse,’ a mental institution-looking place, Miss J helped the girls with correct runway walking…in straightjackets. Hmmm, tough love? But it was to help them learn how to walk in constricting dresses, such as the ones they modeled for Colleen Quen’s runway show. Saleisha won the runway challenge and off she’ll fly to gay Paree to be a model in Colleen’s debut of her new collection. More on the show after the jump.
