We touched briefly on slicked back hair yesterday during our top SS 2012 classic styles. But we thought this 80s throw back deserved a post all of its own.
Taking inspiration from the era of pop and punk, this trend already showcased by the likes of Emma Watson and Pixie Geldof, has made catwalk head ways for the spring/Summer season.
If you’re a gal who likes to keep her barnet long and down then take lead from Rebecca Taylor, Victoria Beckham and BCBG which showed off loose slicked back locks, while updos and styles for shorter hair were key at Ralph Lauren and Ruffian.
We’re off to buy that all important hair gel now.
See the gallery below for the hot looks of SS 2012.

Monday brought with it Erdem, the lovely Erdem, Pringle of Scotland, Giles and… Burberry but more about that later.
Anna Wintour took a front row place at Erdem along with Harry Potter star Clemence Posy and British model Erin O’Connor. Another Potter graduate, Bonnie Wright was spotted at Pringle along with Rosario Dawson and actress Tilda Swinton, who was aptly dressed in a Pringle sweater with is signature Argyle pattern.
Meanwhile the young and fabulous flocked to Giles’ catwalk show, with the likes of Jessie J, Kelly Brook, Pixie Geldof, Nick Grimshaw and Dannii Minogue placing their bums on the front row seats.

House of Holland Spring/Summer 2012
Love him or hate him, it’s pretty much impossible to dispute that when it comes to London Fashion Week, Henry Holland rules this town with his cheeky, anarchic attitude towards fashion that you get the feeling is largely influenced by his cool brat-pack of high-profile friends. The designer everyone wants to be best friends with in the hope that he’ll honour you on one of his T-shirts, his show is always going to be one of the hottest tickets in town when Fashion Week rolls around again.
The new House of Holland Spring/Summer collection that he showed on Saturday was typically Hollandesque in that there were all the bratty, cartoonish elements in his design that always remind us of old poppy coming-of-age Nickelodeon shows from the 90s and much-loved teen movies- Holland always keeps things sassy with some eye-popping prints and clunky little-girl styles that take the “Kinderwhore” look to a whole new level.
This time round the theme for his new designs was “Pastel Punks”, was immediately obvious when the first model came down the runway in a pastel colour-blocked shirt and high-waisted acid wash jeans with snakeskin heels. We bet he’s already made copies of everything in the collection for his bezzies. We loved the clever playing off of ultra-sugary pastel tones and childlike-colour blocking against the snarling aggression of sleek snakeskin boots and fishnet ankle socks.
Anyone who was hoping for some more of Holland’s patented sugary plaids won’t be let down as there are plenty of his trademark checks in bold mint and lilac colours – now all we’ve got to do is bust out our purple clogs, find some old school knee socks and we’ve got one look that Cher from Clueless would die for.
For his Spring/Summer 2012 collection, Holland has basically taken the archetypal Bad Girl, sat her down in front of some cartoons and given her a new cheeky bubblegum spin – and we have to say, trashy as the designs are, they are gloriously trashy and we can’t help loving him a little bit for just bringing some fun to the stuffiness and seriousness of one of fashion’s most prestigious events – because, really, isn’t that pretty punk and therefore pretty British of him?

Paloma Faith goes all British for Ashish
Paloma Faith on the front row at the Ashish Spring/Summer 2012 show during London Fashion Week at Somerset House, London.
Day 2 of London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 saw Pixie Geldof and Jamie Winstone in matching colour for House of Holland. Singer Ellie Goulding also made an appearance at HoH, while American socialite Olivia Palermo headed to Jaeger.
Saturday also had the grand dame of British fashion Vivienne Westwood on the schedule, attracting celebs left right and center. Sadie Frost looked stunning in a white shimmery gown, while fresh out of Celebrity Big Brother Pamela Anderson opted for a more low-key black number.
Paloma Faith – who appears to be everywhere this LFW – was snapped in less than three outfits one crazier than the other. I quite like her cherry fascinator though… Where can I get one!

Nicole Scherzinger performs during the launch of the Westfield Stratford City, London
London-based shopping junkies will be happy to hear that there’s a new outlet for your addiction opening today, as the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford finally opened it’s doors today with plenty of fanfare.
Boris Johnson was there (bless him) wearing his trademark crooked tie and blonde thatch of hair, but that’s all we can pass comment on about our Mayor’s style – the less said the better really. More dynamically dressed was Nicole Sherzinger, who put on an incredibly energetic and raunchy performance in a fetish-look black and red PVC coat with fringed sleeves, which she later changed out of in exchange for a sexy black pencil dress.
Pixie Geldof was there for the proceedings alongside Channel 4′s Nick Grimshaw – Pixie looked cute and cool with white-blonde corkscrew curls and a simple black and white polka dot dress with scarily high court heels. Kelly Brook was also there looking very sunkissed and sexy in a black and gold mini-dress to show off the golden glow of her post-summer legs. Cow.
The Westfield shop is going to be absolutely ginormous, with apparently over 300 shops opening there and over 70 restaurants. I think I might get down there myself right now..

Brothel creepers were all over the catwalk this season
They used to solely be the footwear of Camden goths and cyber-clubbers, but bizarrely brothel-creepers are the only shoe to be seen in this season if you’re a close follower of hipster fashion. We’ve seen quirky London girls Pixie Geldof and Agyness Deyn wearing them – and now even Katy Perry is getting in on the act, as she’s been spotted in a posh pair of punk-style creepers by Jeffrey Campbell.
Dolce & Gabbana’s excellently slick androgynous trend has had us all suddenly getting complete shoe-lust for creeper styles. It seems now that girly, delicate styles are out, and masculine, tough footwear is in. In the past brothel-creepers have been dauntingly unwearable, unless you’re a fifteen year-old girl in a tutu and a Marilyn Manson T-shirt. but now designers are teaming the shoe with long, tailored cigarette pants and sharp-collared blouses. They’re not all decorated with cobwebs and spiders anymore either, thanks to the likes of Asos who have created the “Monroe” creeper which comes in both patent pink and silver metallic. J’adore!
The bravest of the brave have been wearing these shoes with absolutely everything, to mixed receptions, but we think there is definitely an easy way to rock this shoe. All you need is a sharp pair of creepers (plain black ones are classic if you’re not feeling brave) with tapered trousers, a high-necked blouse and an elegant draped blazer. Just add some muted makeup with slicked-back hair and you’ve got a look fit for Fashion Week.
Check out our favourite brothel creeper shoes in the gallery above.

We’ve been huge fans of Jeffrey Campbell’s edgy and wildly outrageous shoe designs ever since we first clapped eyes on them on the American clothing store Nastygal.com. His often sculptural, avant-garde and loudly colourful shoes have had us coming over all funny with severe shoe lust – so we’re incredibly happy that some his designs are now being stocked specially in Office.
Pixie Geldof is already a huge fan of the JC heels that are being stocked there – and it’s not hard to see why our favourite party girl is all in a tizz over the designs, as it is a small, compact collection of edgy ankle-breakingly high platforms and stacked heels made out of sparkles, leather and velvet. Want to make your party outfit more exciting, Pixie-style? Try teaming a vampy LBD with a pair of Jeffrey Campbell’s black velvet platform-heel mary jane heels, which you can find in the gallery above, which will lend any outfit a sexy and retro twist.
We can’t say these shoes are going to be a steal, as prices are over £100 per pair. But it might be worth setting aside a little of your savings to get your mitts on a pair before they sell out, as we guarantee Jeffrey Campbell’s shoes will be a smash hit in the hit.
Check out our gallery above to see the JC heels stocked at Office.

Spotted, Spotted in London
By Andrea Petrou on September 23rd, 2010
Julia Roberts dazzelled the crowd last night in a white suit, when she stepped out to the premier of her latest film, Eat, Pray, Love, in London. The starlet stood out from the normal Hollywood stars , who usually opt for dresses but the risk paid off and left Julia looking like a trend setter rather than a disaster.
Julia was joined by Caroline Flack who went for a mini dress with ankle boots while Elizabeth Gilbet went for a black ballgown dress.
Across the London pond Kate Moss stepped out in a fur coat for an event at the W Hotel, while Pixie Geldof went for a grungy style frock with flat ankle boots.
Agyness Deyn also made an appearance at the event in skinny black jeans and trainers.

Emma Watson and Pixie Geldof joined Glasto Festival goers today and also gave them a run for their fashion style (although we would expect them to considering the amount of money they have).
Emma looked casually glam in denim shorts and a corset brocade top. She finished of the look with over the knee boots. Pixie on the other hand opted for tiny black hotpants, sneakers and to the knee black socks. She completed the look with a cardigan complete with a train.
But it wasn’t just the stars that looked good. Like yesterday, revellers showed off their looks, which included flip-flops, denim shorts and nautical stripes, while others went for wellies (of course) and boho style tunics. We’ll be bringing you all the Glasto news on Monday with galleries of the acts and of course the trends. And don’t forget to send us your Glastonbury fashion photos for inclusion in a gallery.

Designer Fashions

Yes, yet another designer, trendy socialite and established store in cahoots for our cash. This time round I’m talking about Henry Hollands H! Range as modeled by Pixie Geldof, who’s fashion portfolio seems to be far outstripping her older sisters truncated attempts. Often seen on the party circuit arm and arm, Henry’s choice of Pixie as a model is obvious. Especially since he has coined the 19 year old as his muse. Pixie models the clothes looking svelte, smiley and incredibly edgy in a way that is only permissible on the right side of 21. Before I enter into a diatribe of how you can only look good by looking bad with the teenage years on your side, I will steer myself back to the collection.
The elfin’s influence as a muse is quite transparent with satchels, blazers and varsity jackets on display. This is definitely a range for the edgier young folk out there, and there is something very high fashion school days about it, but with a much more punk over preppy feel. H! also succeeds in showcasing Henry’s most typical fashion formulas colour, big prints, neon florals and some sports wear cuts in there too. There are even some cycling shorts on offer for his most bravely committed fashion followers. Possibly the most unflattering item of clothing ever produced. Good luck to those who give them a shot, I may avert my gaze.

As we’ve already said, it’s the 50th Anniversary of punk and rock brand Dr. Martens on April 1st, and we’ve put together a gallery of on-trend DM boots to celebrate.
However, we didn’t think this was enough to pay tribute to such an iconic brand, which has shaped various states of fashion over the years including 80s punk and 90s grunge.
We’ve therefore put together a gallery of celebrities wearing these shoes with various outfits to give you some style inspiration.
Let us know who you think wears DMs best by leaving your comments in the box below.

Pixie Geldof and Alexa Chung turned up to the Twlilight: New Moon New York premiere last night wearing leopard print accents. Animal prints are always relevant in fashion in one form or another, but there’s something particularly cool right now about finishing off denim and black with a shoe, bag or jacket in leopard print.
Alexa used her bag to tone down a full-skirted, metallic navy blue prom dress and black platform heels. Of course, Pixie’s trademark 90s grunge style didn’t need toning down. She wore her leopard print fake-fur gilet with a tight black dress and chunky Doc Marten-style boots, topping the look off with a beanie hat.
Our advice is to follow these two it girls’ leads and stick to one leopard print item per all-black outfit to really make a statement.
