NYMag.com offers online window-shopping

By Andrea Thatcher on October 23rd, 2007

New York Magazine’s amazing online presence has taken a step up with their new Shop-A-Matic feature. With 283 women’s shoes to look at, you can pick boots, flats, platforms, or pumps and browse through pictures. The options are unique and have obviously been picked out by hand by someone very in the know. The David Bootie by Pink Studio, $99, is reminiscent of the Balenciaga witch boots Mary Kate Olsen wouldn’t be seen without, and the graduated patent leather pump by Prada, $550, is sure to become a museum-worthy piece someday.

InStyle’s fall celebrity handbags

By Andrea Thatcher on October 3rd, 2007

InStyle_celebrity%20handbags.JPG
Want to have a handbag just like Hollywood’s hottest stars? Then check out this gallery of Celebrity It bags by InStyle Magazine. They were all fabulous, but my ultimate favorites were Angelina Jolie’s and Zahara Jolie-Pitt’s matching white Valentino Histoire bags ($1695 at Bergdorf Goodman), Eva Longoria’s Prada snakeskin frame bag, and Ashley Olsen’s Fendi crocodile tote. Angelina’s bag is listed above, but to get chic designs just like Eva’s, Instyle suggests you try New York & Company’s City Skins handbag tote for $34.95. A similar find to Ashley’s is the Helen Welsh ‘Large Croco Square’ shopping bag from Nordstrom for $198.

Milan Fashion Week: Prada fairytales

By Andrea Thatcher on September 26th, 2007

Prada_Milan%20Fashion%20Week.JPG

Prada went for a ‘dark fairytale’ spring theme in Milan Fashion Week, today. Her collection began with a navy blue long cardigan, skirt and knee high socks, then quickly morphed into fairyland. Complete with flowing chiffon dresses and pants sets with black contrast piping and what looked like Japanese anime fairy print, the collection was reminiscent of the late ’60s and early ’70s Art Nouveau style. The fairy designs were paired with contrasting colorful plaid stockings and dark black eye makeup. Check out more pictures from the show after the jump.

Shop It to Me is almost like your own personal shopper. And at the same time, like going to a sample sale, only you don’t have to leave the house unless you know your favorite clothes are on sale in your size! When you sign in, you pick your favorite brands like Ann Taylor, Brooks Brothers, Prada, DKNY, Armani, Juicy Couture and BCBG. They read through websites of top retailers such as Macy’s, Saks, Bloomie’s, Gap and Bluefly to find your faves in your size. You can receive daily, weekly, or semi-weekly emails that only alert you if they find what is on sale in your size.

Prada Minuteria Nappa Gauffre Wallet

By Andrea Thatcher on September 13th, 2007

prada%2520wallet.jpg

I’ve had the same white Prada wallet for four years now and I just can’t seem to part with it. Not that it’s still in great shape (it’s seen better days), but I have yet to find another wallet with all of the compartments that I need. I finally realized the answer to my dilemma … another Prada wallet. This time, I fell in love with the Minuteria Nappa Gauffre Wallet. It has all of the same compartments as my current white Prada only it’s more sleek and sophisticated. The gold-tone hardware adds a chic touch and I can still keep all of my credit cards and gift cards at my fingertips. You can find it at Bergdorf Goodman for $460.
