It seems that it’s not just us that’s got terrible K-Middy fever, as she’s just been voted as one of the world’s best dressed women in the world in Vanity Fair.
Kate was hailed as the third most well-dressed women in the world, having been pipped to the post by Carla Bruni in first place and Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser of Qatar in second. Still Kate, third place ain’t bad. Also on the list were Carey Mulligan, Tilda Swinton and Princess Charlene of Monaco.
Vanity Fair applauded the young Duchess for her recent habit of “recycling” clothes (i.e. wearing them more than once, ever). Apparently she’s worn her green Diane Von Fustenberg in public at least three times now! Three! Having scorned at the rich and beautiful’s idea of recycling, I have to admit that if I was the Duchess of Cambridge I’d probably never wear the same thing twice – so many fashion possibilities.
Congratulations, oh shiny-haired one – you’re officially the third best-dressed woman in the world.

Kate Middleton in Canada
The Duchess of Cambridge during her visit the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Canada, on the first day of her visit to the Commonwealth country.
The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, wowed crowds in Canada yesterday as she embarked on a nine day official tour of Canada. Although boarding the plane she could have mistaken for airline stewardess in a sombre knee length navy blue number, Kate looked every inch the glamour puss by the time she arrived the capital Ottowa.
Designed by Canadian Erdem Moralioglu, the lacy navy and stone scoop-backed shift dress looked absolutely stunning. The day was spent speaking to soldiers, sailors and airmen and laying a wreath to Canada’s war heroes. Joyce Udell, a diplomat with the Canadian Government paid tribute to the Royals: “I don’t like to use the word ‘admire’ but I like her style, I like both their styles, they’re not as ostentatious as some in the royal family.”

Britain’s Prince William and new wife Duchess Catherine will go canoeing when in Canada.
The royal couple are making their first official overseas visit to the country – where William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth is the head of state – from June 30 to July 8, and their official itinerary has now been released.
The pair’s first official engagement is the laying of a wreath at Canada’s National War Memorial in Ottowa, but they will also canoe, spend a night on a navy frigate on the St. Lawrence River and attend the Calgary Stampede – the second largest parade in the world.
Following their Canadian visit, where they will meet Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Prince William and Duchess Catherine will go to Los Angeles, where they plan to help budding British talent get a break in Hollywood.
Discussing the BAFTA Brits to Watch black tie event they will attend, their private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton said: “We hope it will get them that big break but also that it will generate greater interest in investment in UK creative industries.
“The duke sees this as a tremendous opportunity to build on the momentum of British success in TV, film and video games.”

Duchess Catherine made a striking vision for her first public appearance with husband Prince William last night at the 10th annual Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) Gala Dinner at Kensington Palace.
Kate (29) wowed the 1,000 guests in a shimmery dusty pink silk tulle Jenny Packham gown with sequin and crystal embellishment across the waist and L.K. Bennett shoes, with a box clutch to match.
As expected the Jenny Packham dress from her SS11 collection had reportedly sold out in the early hours of Friday 10 June – proving that Kate Middleton is well on her way of becoming a style icon in her role as future Queen.
Prince William looked quite dashing too!

Ellie Goulding will “never” forget performing at the royal wedding reception.
The ‘Starry Eyed’ hitmaker was asked by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to sing at their post-wedding party at Buckingham Palace on Friday (29.04.11) and after serenading the 300 guests with a selection of her hits and clovers of classic tracks – including Sir Elton John’s ‘Your Song’, which was the couple’s first dance – she admits she was “honoured” to have been involved.
She said: “It was an amazing honour to be asked by Kate and William to perform at their party. The atmosphere was incredible and it is a night I’ll never forget!”
While members of the royal family, including Queen Elizabeth and William’s father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, left before midnight, the celebrations continued until 2am for younger revellers at an afterparty thrown by best man Prince Harry.
According to reports, the final song played was King’s of Leon’s ‘Sex on Fire’, after Prince Harry promised partygoers one final song before they had to leave.
Introducing the song, he told guests: “This has been a great night but please respect the family and those upstairs when you leave. And don’t wake up the neighbours.
“OK, here’s one more song but promise you will leave after. This one is dedicated to my brother.”
Guests at Harry’s afterparty were treated to potent Crack Baby cocktails, which contain vodka, passion fruit, raspberry liqueur and champagne, and tucked into snacks including popcorn and Haribo sweets.
Earlier in the day, guests at the more formal wedding reception – who were seated at tables named after towns and cities close to the hearts of the bride and groom – were served a three-course meal cooked by Prince Charles’ favourite chef Anton Mossiman.
He served crab layered with fresh langoustine, followed by herb-stuffed lamb, then a trio of desserts, chocolate mousse, honeycomb ice cream and sherry trifle.

Kate Middleton has finally revealed her wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton.
The Alexander McQueen designer created the ivory gown with lace applique floral detailing and a 2.7 metre train, as well as the bridesmaid dress worn by the bride’s sister Pippa Middleton, and Kate’s ivory duchesse satin and lace shoes.
The skirt was handmade by the royal school of needlework at Hampton Court.
The lace design was hand-engineered using Carickmacross lace making techniques developed in Ireland in the 1820s.
The individual flowers – thistles, roses, daffodils and shamrocks – were hand-cut from Chantilly lace and engineered onto ivory silk tulle.
Kate wore a diamond Cartier tiara – loaned by Queen Elizabeth – and long veil with her hair pinned up at the front, flowing into soft curls at the back.
Her earrings, diamond-set stylised oak leaves designed by Robinson Pelham, were a gift from parents Michael and Carole.
The bride-to-be kept her flowing gown virtually hidden as she made her way to Westminster Abbey, with only parts of her flowing train visible as she and her father Michael Middleton got into their car to travel to her wedding.
William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth wore an Angela Kelly primrose dress with hand-sewn beading and matching hait, accessorised with Queen Mary’s true lovers knot brooch.
Kate’s mother Carole Middleton was a hit in the fashion stakes, wearing a Catherine Walker-designed sky blue wool crepe coat dress with satin piping and Jane Corbett hat.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall teamed her Anne Valentine champagne blue silk dress and hand-embroidered coat with an eye-catching Philip Treacy hat and bronze Jimmy Choo shoes.
In total, the milliner designed hats for 35 members of the royal families, including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Queen Anna-Marie of Greece and Princess Mathilde of Belgium.

Prince William and Kate Middleton: Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Prince William and Kate Middleton will become the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after their wedding today (is there a wedding today, haven’t heard about it anywhere?)
The couple will tie the knot at Westminster Abbey at 11am and this morning William’s grandmother Queen Elizabeth conferred the Dukedom on the 28-year-old prince. William’s other titles will include Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.
A statement from Buckingham Palace announced: “The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.”
Meanwhile, William has chosen to wear the uniform of Colonel of the Irish Guards at his wedding.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) search-and rescue pilot who is commissioned in all three branches of the armed services decided to wear the uniform of his senior honorary appointment in the army.
He will wear a forage cap, gold and crimson sash and gold sword slings but no sword. The uniform was fitted by Kashket and Partners.
William’s 26-year-old brother and best man Prince Harry will wear the uniform of a Captain of the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals). William spent his last evening as a single man with his father Prince Charles, stepmother Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and brother before taking time out to speak with well-wishers who had lined the Mall in preparation for his big day.

Ellie Goulding will perform at the wedding reception of Prince William and Kate Middleton tomorrow.
The royal couple will tie the knot at Westminster Abbey in London followed by a meal hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace and the ‘Starry Eyed’ singer has been invited to provide the after-dinner entertainment at an intimate gathering for 300 people hosted by William’s father Prince Charles.
William and Kate reportedly chose the pop star because they believe her music will appeal to guests of all ages.
A source said: “William and Kate are huge fans of Ellie and were keen to sign her up.
“Her music goes down well with the young ones, plus a few of the older guests will be nodding their heads along.
“They really wanted a top British talent and the couple are delighted Ellie agreed to perform. She can’t wait, although she’s a tad nervous.”
William, 28 and Kate, 29, hope Ellie will serenade them with her cover of ‘Your Song’ by Sir Elton John – who will attend the nuptials with his partner David Furnish – and the excited singer is said to be “honoured” with the invitation.
An insider told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Ellie was knocked off her feet when she received the invitation to perform for Prince William and Kate – and was so hugely honoured when they said they were both big fans of her music.
“She still can’t quite believe that she will perform for the royal newlyweds, all the young royal guests and their friends, it hasn’t sunk in yet.”
Ellie, 24, will be accompanied by her boyfriend, DJ Greg James.

Kate Middleton wants to look natural on her wedding day.
The brunette beauty will tie the knot with Prince William at London’s Westminster Abbey tomorrow (29.04.11) and while all eyes will be on her, the only person she is keen on impressing is her future husband.
So she has told her hairstylist not to stray too far from her normal look when it comes to her tresses as she wants William to recognise her.
Richard Ward – who owns the London salon responsible for styling Kate’s hair as well as her mother Carole and sister Pippa – said: “We’ve had many practice runs – and not just with Kate. The one rule is by the time she gets to the end of the altar her husband must recognise her.’
“The look will be natural.”
Richard – whose star snipper James Pryce will be the main stylist – also said he has been inundated with girls wanting their hair like Kate’s ever since her engagement was announced.
He is quoted by the Mail Online website as saying: “A lot of girls wanted it, especially a lot of Americans. We have a lot of people from America coming in. How Kate wears her hair typifies how you should be wearing your hair today, it’s a very natural look. It needs to gleam with health, it needs to shine, needs really deep rich colour.
“Kate and her family have been coming for eight years and we’ve got a relationship that goes back a long time. We’re lucky because she has amazing hair.”

Jess Collett predicts many guests will wear “big hats” to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
The milliner is creating accessories for a number of people attending the nuptials and says the strict dress code has limited the choices for those who will attend the marriage service in London’s Westminster Abbey on Friday (29.04.11).
She said: “I’m making hats for quite a few of the guests. The invitation says ‘hats must be worn in church’, and forbids decorations; flowers or feathers, so most of the pieces I am making are bigger hats. People are nervous about what they can and can’t wear, and other milliners I have spoken to have said they are making mostly larger hats as well.”
“I think there will be more big hats and that people are moving away from the one feather look. I think there will be lots of upturned brims, so people can be seen; there’s lots of kissing to be done!”
Jess – who was originally hired to design a hat for Kate’s mother Carole Middleton – admitted guests are wary of looking foolish and are opting for “subtle” hues in their headwear.
She added to vogue.co.uk: “Most people have said they want subtle elegance: it’s a royal wedding and the line between elegant and garish is fine. Everyone has said they don’t want to feel like a fool. The hat has to complement the outfit, but people aren’t going matchy-matchy. It’s more about subtle tonnes of a colour.”

Reese Witherspoon invited Prince William and Kate Middleton to her recent wedding.
The ‘Water for Elephants’ actress tied the knot with Hollywood agent Jim Toth in a romantic ceremony last month and she was keen for the royal couple to attend so they would ask her to their highly-anticipated nuptials on April 29.
She told US TV show ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’: “I can’t even contain my enthusiasm for the royal wedding! I’m kind of bummed I’m not invited to the royal wedding. My girlfriend asked me if I was invited. Well, no, but I invited them to my wedding!”
While Britain’s future king and queen failed to attend, Reese – who has two children, Ava, 11, and seven-year-old Deacon, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe – says she enjoyed every minute of her big day.
She revealed: As my girlfriend says, ‘You only get married for the second time once!’
“It was so much fun. My daughter helped me pick out my dress. She was my maid of honour. It wasn’t stressful.”
Reese recently revealed she “didn’t have to think” before accepting Jim’s marriage proposal because she was absolutely certain she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
She said: “I knew he was The One all right. A clue was when he asked me to marry him and I said yes right away. Didn’t have to think about it. It just feels like the right thing at the right time in my life.”
