By Andrea Thatcher on December 10th, 2007

If you’re shoop-shoop-shooping your way down the bunny trail (or some black diamonds!) we’ve found some great ski jackets from Ralph Lauren and some lower priced counterparts as well. At the top we have Old Navy’s Frost Free Anorak at $78 and Ralph Lauren’s Monza jacket, $595. Belts are key with outerwear, especially the variety designed to actually keep you warm as opposed to just looking cute, because it defines a waist in the sea of fabric that is outdoor sportswear.

Limited edition Schatzberg book shows life backstage at Dior and Saint Laurent in 1962

By Andrea Thatcher on November 7th, 2007

Behind-the-scenes, almost voyeuristic photos of Yves Saint Laurent preparing for his first solo collection and surprised audience reactions to Dior’s 1962 runway show will be presented to the world in “Paris 1862.” The book of Jerry Schatzberg’s photography shot for Esquire magazine catches fashion celebrities like Diana Vreeland and Jessica Davis in their element. The $800 collector’s print, signed by the artist, launches Nov. 15 in Paris and then in America in November. Next year we can expect Rizzoli, the publisher of the new Ralph Lauren book, to put out an expanded edition that is perhaps more affordable. But, given the $135 price of “Ralph Lauren” it might not be affordable to the masses.

New Ralph Lauren flagship store opens in Atlanta

By Andrea Thatcher on October 30th, 2007

Most retailers have one flagship store, the store that is best stocked with the best service and biggest experience of “their brand.” But not Ralph Lauren. “Our New York store is the flagship for the Northeast, Chicago is the flagship of the middle of the country, and Beverly Hills is it for the West Coast,” executive vice president, global retail brand development Charles Fagan tells WWD. And now, the new store in Lenox Square in Atlanta “reflects our commitment to Atlanta and this region.” Ralph Lauren is really one of the original lifestyle brands and one of the most iconic American brands, so it’s only fitting that they would have flagships around the country. If you can’t make it to Atlanta or one of the flagships, check out the Ralph Lauren Web site. There is so much to look at and experience apart from the retail shop, like Lauren’s new book.

Chadwick’s introduces Chadwick’s Chic

By Andrea Thatcher on October 11th, 2007

Chadwick%27s.jpg
I’ll admit whenever I glance through a Chadwick’s catalog it’s usually at my mother-in-law’s house, where I catch up on most of my catalogs. But I’ll also say I always see a few things I’d consider buying and am impressed with the stylish, affordable options they have. So when I saw they were launching a new collection called Chadwick’s Chic with stylish clothing and accessories that reflect the latest fashion trends of the season, I was intrigued. And these pieces look great! Keep reading for details.
