Roberto Cavalli will launch a new collection of homewares

By emilyborrett on September 21st, 2011

The legendary fashion designer Roberto Cavalli is turning his magic hands from fashion to the home, as he’s creating a collection of furniture, wallpaper, flooring and home textiles in his iconic animal prints that he’s so well known for. I can’t actually imagine anything more wonderful, trashy and glam than Cavalli home decor – can you?

Roberto, who is famous for his glamorous and sexy European designs, said about his new homewares project: “The home and the objects that surround us reflect our lifestyle. The fantasy, memories of a trip.we are always looking for new inspirations to have objects and atmospheres around us where we feel at ease. [This collection stems from] my personal wish to share with those who love me the joy of living my fashion, my creativity, my philosophy and my style also in the world of home decorating.”

The homewares are going to be sold worldwide, with distribution in Europe, the United States and Asia. I don’t think I’ll be able to resist leopardprint towels and wallpaper for long – it’s only a matter of time til I get bitten by the Cavalli fashion bug..

Gallery: Get Cheryl Cole’s casual look

By Andrea Petrou on June 3rd, 2010

Cheryl Cole may have had a host of up and downs this past year but her personal problems have never detracted from her amazing style.

The popstar and X-Factor judge has never had a “bad style” day and whether she’s performing in Roberto Cavalli gowns or chilling out she always looks right on-trend.

The one thing we really like about Cheryl’s style though is that when she does casual, she does it in a way we can all follow, going for skinny jeans, biker jackets, chunky cardigans worn over frilly tees and of course her hats and sunnies.

We’ve therefore decided to dedicate a gallery today to getting Cheryl’s look at highstreet prices. Have a look and let us know which one is your favourite item.

Cheryl Cole wows on the Cannes red carpet

By Andrea Petrou on May 24th, 2010

Cheryl Cole Cannes Day 12-400.jpg

We covered some of the best dressed A-listers from the last day of the Cannes Film Festival 2010 early this morning. However one celebrity who we think really deserves her own story is Cheryl Cole.

The singer who performed earlier on in the Cannes film fest to the tune of £250,000 at a dinner hosted by jewellery company De Grisogono in a Roberto Cavalli black frock, once again took to the red Cannes carpet. This time it was for the premiere of Outside the Law.

The starlet opted for a white floor length gown with cut out side panels and a very daring thigh high split by Versace, which she teamed up with white on-trend peep toe shoes. Celebrities forget the wedding dress look, if you want to go for the white trend du jour, this is the way to do it.

Cheryl Cole performs at the De Grisogono jewellery dinner in a Roberto Cavalli dress

By Andrea Petrou on May 19th, 2010

Cheryl Cole Roberto Cavalli-400.jpg

Yesterday we reported that Cheryl Cole was being paid £250,000 to perform at the De Grisogono jewellery dinner party at the Eden Rock Hotel in Cap d’Antibes during the Cannes Film Festival.

And last night, wearing a strapless Roberto Cavalli dress and jewellery from de Grisogono, she did her thing singing ‘Fight for This Love‘, ‘Three Words‘, ‘Parachutes’, and a new song, ‘Stand Up’.

The singer was escorted at the event attended by the likes of Naomi Campbell by the head of the company, Fawaz Gruosi and we have to say we think she really stands out as one of the best dressed of the festival.

Keep reading for for our daily Cannes Festival round-up.

Big brands fight it out for Cheryl Cole to appear in their ads

By Andrea Petrou on March 11th, 2010

Thumbnail image for Cheryl Cole follicle fakery.jpg

Cheryl may be having a tough time in her personal life (for the record we think she can do so much better than Ashley) but she’s certainly not struggling with her work.

According to reports in the Mirror the X-Factor judge, and current face of L’Oreal, has caused a battle between 3 designers who all want her to front their next season collections and ad campaigns.

Roberto Cavalli has already offered £1.3 million for Cheryl to star in his autumn/winter ’10 campaign, but he’s trailing behind two more designers who have put up offers in excess of £2 million each.

Well, what can we say, she’s obviously worth it.

Mary J Blige wears Roberto Cavalli to the 52nd annual Grammy awards

By Andrea Petrou on February 1st, 2010
The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards - Backstage

While Lady Gaga was busy showing off her outrageous dress sense, other singers decided to go for something a little bit more key, namely Mary J Blige.

The R&B singer walked down the red carpet and performed Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” on stage with classical singer Andrea Bocelli in a cobalt blue strapless beaded jersey dress from the Roberto Cavalli Pre-Spring 2010 Collection.

We think this colour, plus the beaded detail makes it a perfect awards frock and puts Ms Blige into our best dressed list.

ShinyStyle Golden Globes Gallery: Pretty in pastels

By Kimberley Foster on January 12th, 2009

Dark hues may have been the choice for many starlets, but the Golden Globes were also awash with pastels too. Anyone might have thought it was spring by the way some celebs wore their pretty pale colours. Nudes, soft pinks, pale yellows and blues dominated as the likes of Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore and Salma Hayek took their turns in front of the cameras. [Photos: Jim Smeal/BEI/Rex Features]

Milan Fashion Week: Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on September 25th, 2008

What does Roberto Cavalli have up his sleeve for S/S 2009. A bit of everything. Little bustier dresses, floaty chiffon maxi dresses, feather covered evening frocks…and not a dash of animal print in sight! We know he can’t just make red carpet dress after red carpet dress, but we kind of wish he would. CLICK THE IMAGE TO VIEW THE CQ GALLERY.

From London we head to Italy, where Roberto Cavalli opened Milan Fashion Week with his Just Cavalli spring/summer 2009 collection. Against a seascape backdrop, it was another unusual mix of leopard print, lace, leather and chiffon for the designer, but haven’t we seen this all before?

Everyone’s hopped all over the Karl Lagerfeld-as-rapper image from the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, so we decided to show you some of the other designers’ fantasy shoots.

Here’s designer Michael Kors as James Stewart as L.B. Jeffries in Hitchcock’s “Rear Window” which is a fabulously styled movie.

Donatella Versace chose to portray “The Princess and the Pea” on a pile of matresses.

“I am not a great believer in fairy tales,” she said. “Every woman should fight hard for her own happy endings. Although occasionally, it is nice to wake up as a princess.”

For more on what the likes of Tyra Banks, Donna Karan and more chose for their shoots, keep reading.

Who knew stars like Michelle Trachtenberg, Demi Moore and Rumer Willis, Kate Beckinsale and Kate Hudson were so into Dominos?

By Andrea Thatcher on February 22nd, 2008

Dominos.jpgClick image to enlarge.

To be fair, they’re probably more into charity than they are Dominos, and that’s probably why they flocked to De Grisogono’s Hollywood Dominos tournament benefiting The Art Of Elysium. And we’re really, really hoping this red carpet serves as some sort of glamour barometer for the Oscars on Sunday as almost everyone looked stunning. Continue reading to find out who the stars were wearing.
