Sienna and Savannah always get sample sizes of Twenty8Twelve clothes

By Andrea Petrou on March 25th, 2011

Sienna and Savannah Miller always get a sample of their designs made in both their sizes so they can make changes.

The sisters’ brand Twenty8Twelve is now in its 11th season and Sienna says the only way they know if the clothes are right is to try them on.

She said: “We now get each sample in both our sizes which has made a huge difference to the way we make changes. I’ve had the great fortune to wear a lot of beautiful designer clothes, and you know when something feels right.

“We’ve also moved all our tailoring to London as well which has made a massive difference in terms of quality and fit – and working with a pattern cutter here feels right for the brand too.”

While Savannah feels the pair may have been too edgy with their designs in the past, she now thinks they have finally hit on the perfect style for the label.

She told vogue.co.uk: “I feel like we’ve been finding our niche. Maybe we’ve tried to be a bit too avant garde in the past, but now we do that with print and texture and just focus on making wearable clothes we’d love to wear. We have an amazing team of seven unsung heroes who work with us – they really understand us and where we want the brand to be – and we’re getting there.”

Sienna Miller’s fashion line Twenty8Twelve is made for “different” body types

By Andrea Petrou on March 16th, 2011

Sienna Miller’s fashion line Twenty8Twelve is made for “different” body types.

The brand – which she creates with her designer sister Savannah Miller – is now in its 11th season, and the British beauty confesses she has learned a lot since its inception.

She said: “When we started this brand I had never done a complete collection. We have learned about creating diversity in the range to suit different ages, bodies and budgets whilst still maintaining the essence of Twenty8Twelve in every piece – not an easy feat!”

Savannah also claims the fashionable garments are designed for every generation of woman, including pensioners.

She told Vogue.co.uk: “We very often have three generations of women come into the store at once and all buy. I think there really is something for everyone and age these days isn’t what it used to be.

“I like to think the Twenty8Twelve woman really understands what she wants her clothes to say about her. She uses her clothes to reflect her personality.”

Sienna Miller hopes to expand her fashion label to make couture designs.

By Andrea Petrou on March 15th, 2011

Sienna Miller hopes to expand her fashion label to make couture designs.

The British actress – who founded the Twenty8Twelve label with her sister Savannah Miller – has revealed the ambitious siblings want to open a New York store and work on high end dresses because Sienna wants to experiment with luxury fabrics.

Sienna explained: “We’d love to do maybe five couture dresses a year – just to have access to those fabrics. And we’d love to open a store in New York. But frankly, we’re really comfortable with where the label’s got to now.”

However, despite their aspirations, Sienna admitted it is more important to develop strong sales and so revealed they decided not to show their label at London Fashion Week recently, instead arranging private appointments with influential fashion insiders.

She told WWD: “We love doing shows, but because we’re not breaking the mold in what we do design wise it’s not particularly translating to sales. And the more important thing for us is sales at the moment, especially in this economy.”

LFW Highlights: Twenty8Twelve

By Andrea Petrou on September 20th, 2010

Sienna Miller’s on-again boyfriend Jude Law may have stolen the paparazzi’s attention with his front-row presence at Twenty8Twelve’s spring 2011 show, we were more focused on the show, she and her sister Savannah, put on for their label.

Full skirt 50s style dresses complete with white petticoats and hems full of colour graced the catwalk. The sisters also gave a nod to 1950s Mexico with frocks in golden hues, a fringed pocahontas dress and suedes as well as  maxi dresses emitting an Aztec vibe.

Unlike many of the designers who opted for bold colours Sienna and her sis went instead for khakis, denim blues and dusty creams mixed in with white and the odd burst of lemon. We like a lot ladies.
