While we were sitting at home away from the rain and watching Dancing on Ice it was a completely different night for LA’s celebrities who once again donned their best frocks for the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The red carpet was covered in Hollywood’s A-list women flaunting this season’s hot looks including Kate Hudson and Marion Cotillard who opted for angelic bridal white.
Other stars such as Mariah Carey and Christina Hendricks decided to go the other way choosing key colour red to make their grand entrance. And as always the black frock was not forgotten with Signory Weaver, Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz all looking glam in this traditional colour.
Watch the red carpet event and other celeb’s frocks on the video below.
Here are some more leading ladies at last night’s SAG awards: Kate Winslet in Narciso Rodriguez, Anne Hathaway in Azzaro, Claire Danes in Nina Ricci and more…

The Screen Actor’s Guild Awards are officially underway, but we’re still focusing on the red carpet. There were some beautiful dresses (we’re expecting headlines like white hot! and citrus style!) but overall we’re a little underwhelmed. What do you think? Check out our gallery (and more to come!) and tell us in the comments.
To see who’s wearing what, see here and here.

It looks like the television stars were told to arrive at the Screen Actor’s Guild awards early, so we’re still waiting for a lot of the big movie nominees to step out of their limos. So here’s what a lot of TV’s loveliest ladies are wearing and a few movie stars too!
Jennifer Morrison (nominee, ensemble drama cast for House) – Ann Valerie Hash
Katrina Bowden (nominee, ensemble comedy cast for 30 Rock) – Christian Siriano – what up Project Runway!

When Angel Sanchez returns to Bryant Park this coming fashion week, Grey’s Anatomy stars like Chandra Wilson and Sara Ramirez, who Sanchez dressed for the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards at left, are expected to be in the front row.
This will be the designer’s first show in the tents since 2000. “I feel more confident than when I was coming up from Venezuela with my suitcase,” he told WWD. “The first two times was more an ego thing. Now, this is professional.”
The show will kick off a big phase for Sanchez. The Angel by Angel Sanchez diffusion line is set to hit stores in spring 2009. The 60-piece collection will include cocktail dresses and separates which will wholesale for $180 to $550.

The red carpet was yellow, fuschia and purple at the SAG awards tonight. We’re so glad to see color after so much black recently. We’ve cast our eye upon Kate Beckinsale in a lovely yellow gown designed by Italian Louisa Beccaria. Beckinsale was presenting this evening, while Sandra Oh and the cast of Grey’s Anatomy were nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Oh wore a custom made gown by a local L.A. Korean designer whose name we really can’t guess at spelling, inpsired by traditional Korean costumes. Finally, Oh’s castmate Sara Ramirez chose a stunning Angel Sanchez number.

The fashionophiles of Ugly Betty took a step away from the Mode offices to walk the red carpet at the SAG awards tonight. While Tina Fey may have beat out America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, I think these ladies took home the style honors. For more on who wore what, keep reading.
The Jolie-Pitts graced the red carpet at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, but floated past all interviewers so we’re still trying to figure out who designed Angelina Jolie’s ethereal dress. Can we assume it’s St. John? With Angelina, we never assume. After splitting her pants at a premiere a few months ago, she almost had another fashion trauma when she stepped on the hem of her dress and almost pulled the top down. I’m sure Brad Pitt would have covered her up.
Angelina is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Mariane Pearl in A Mighty Heart.

The first pictures are starting to come through of the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards red carpet. Christina Applegate is one of our early favorites in a striking silver Elie Saab gown. She’s come a long way since Married With Children, fashion-wise and talent-wise. She is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Samantha Who.
Also in a metallic creation, Debra Messing is wearing Oscar de la Renta, nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries in The Starter Wife. We’re certainly exciting to see so much glitter and glam on what could be our only red carpet of the season. Keep coming back for more photos and who’s wearing what, and feel free to leave a comment about who’s picture you’d like to see!
