Fans of Nicole Richie and her House of Harlow 1960 jewellry line will no doubt be happy to hear the news that she will soon be adding clothes and shoes to her label.
The former reality TV star is getting ready to unveil her second collection, and has revealed that it will be a “totally different line.”
While her last range focussed on African and Indian-inspired designs, Nicole says the next one “is focusing more on old English, equestrian and more sophisticated looks.”
As for the clothes and shoes, she adds: “I’ve been working really hard on designing and picking the right fabrics for my Spring 2010 line.”
In meantime, you can shop Nicole’s current range at Singer22.com.
Here is something to really make you feel depressed about the recession (sorry!) Paris Hilton opens up her gigantic closet to the folks at MySpace’s The Fit. It reminds me of that scene from Will & Grace when Karen opens up her mammoth wardrobe to show Jack. And if you can look past Paris’s constant posing and flogging of her products, its a real eye-opener. Like an entire closet dedicated to shoes!
If, like many, you covet almost anything Agyness Deyn wears, you’ll love catching this glimpse of the model from British Vogue. We’ve got the deets on her fabulous footwear.
We have long touted the leg-lengthening properties of the “nude” pump. The problem is, the color of beige we typically think of as nude only matches one skin tone.
It would be Christian Louboutin who provides the solution. Louboutin’s Simple Pump 85 comes in, yes, a nude version which is a light beige, but also several other colors which will match a whole range of skin tones. Click the link to see them all.
Ladies of any and all colors rejoice! There’s a leg-lengthening, skin-tone matching pump out there for you. And by the shoe master himself. Provided you can spend $575 to $725 on a pair.
We wrapped up $20 gifts under $200 and are on to the $50-$100 price range. The first thing we looked for? A fab coat for gifting to your favorite girl. We like this Gap plaid belted coat, on sale for $94.99, because the plaid can be a little holiday, a little preppy or a little indie depending on the giftee’s style. It’s a little something different for the girl who usually sticks to pea coats.
While I’ve always been a fan of Marshall’s and shop there often, I will say there’s something about shoes mashed together in a less-than-desirable setting that makes you scoff at paying $40 a pair – even if that’s half what they’re sold at elsewhere.
Marshall’s seems to have cottoned on to this fact, and revealed new Marshall’s Shoe Mega Shops earlier this year. Instead of being arranged on no-nonsense shelving according to size, shoes are displayed a lot more like at a designer shoe outlet.

A few weeks ago I got an email asking me to review some Crocs. (Darn, now I’ve given it away, eh?) The public relations rep was fully aware of the impression Crocs have made on the fashion community, and even joked about it, assuring me that these were not the plastic clogs seen on 5-year-olds everywhere.
You by Crocs is the brand’s new, “higher end” line of adult footwear with … well, style! There are a ton of trendy boots for fall, almost all made of real leather.
My favorite of the two shoe-booty options are the Twisted Tart booties, $150, seen at left. I wore these walking around First Friday in my city and my feet held up pretty well thanks to extra padding in the ball of the foot and heel.

What happens when you put Katy Perry and Steve Madden in the same Lower Eastside Steve Madden store? Well you get music and some very cool shoes! Katy Perry performed live at the store to celebrate the launch of www.stevemaddenmusic.com in June and the I had to share this clip because it has the cutest snippet of Steve singing “I kissed a shoe and I liked it” (at about 1:26 seconds) – we can tell Steve, after all you made quite a career out of it.
Tons of shoes have come out in the past years claiming that the wearer will lose weight or reap other health benefits simply by wearing the shoe during their everyday activities. Well, podiatrists Dr. Johanna Youner and Dr. Emanuel Sergi are here to weigh in on what works and what doesn’t.
