Style Spotlight: Whitney Port
By Emily Borrett.
Whitney's perfected Beverley Hills laidback cool in this slouchy denim shirt and hotpants combo - who said that double denim doesn't work?
As the weather slowly brightens up in the UK (we can go out without wearing thermal vests under our outfits! There’s blossom on the trees!) we can start to look forward to what will hopefully be a long, glorious and fashionable spring/summer. Us Brits are good to take tips from during the winter months, but for fashion inspiration it’s better to look across the pond to where the stars dress for gloriously sunny weather almost all year round. You don’t need to look much further than The City TV-star Whitney Port.
More friendly and accessible than Olivia Palermo, more fashion-savvy than Lauren Conrad, she’s the perfect ambassador for laidback summer dressing. We’re particular fans of her off-duty style that she’s papped out and about in; slouchy denim shirts, hotpants and flip-flops and sunnies. And in true It-girl style, she’s never without an absolutely killer bag. Check out our gallery to see our favourite recent Whitney moments.

Get the look: Eliza Doolittle
By Emily Borrett.
It’s a good time to be popstrel Eliza Doolittle at the moment – she’s got great style, her songs are dominating the charts and she’s just been signed onto the much-coveted books of Select Models. Amidst a whole gang of preening, primped stars done up to the nines at every occasion, Eliza’s endearing scruffiness and laid-back cool has won us over.
Instead of wearing a long gown or a frock made out of goose feathers and Swarovski crystals to perform, Eliza prefers to step onstage in an iconic pair of Nike high-tops, a slouchy graphic-printed t-shirt and some teensy shorts to show off her pins. Dressed for going to the beach and climbing trees bare-legged, her laid-back tomboy style is an absolute fresh breath of air to ShinyStyle.
We’ve looked all over the internet and found pieces here and there that we’re sure Miss Doolittle would approve of. Check out the gallery below and let us know what you think.

Trend Alert: Top five denim must-haves.
Ah denim. It’s been around for a very long time and judging by the spring/summer catwalk collections it’s here to stay and, if anything be bigger and better than ever.
Channelling the 80s trend this season it’s all about light, washed denim dresses, jumpsuits and of course jeans. And if you’re feeling brave enough then you could you could also take this a step further by going for the very 80s double denim look (think denim jackets and jeans, denim shorts teamed up with waistcoats and ever denim shirts over jeans).
We’ve put together some of our favourite denim looks out there. Mix and match or wear them together for a summer season look.
Trend alert: Top 5 Festival must haves
The Festival season is right upon us and we know many of you will be hitting a field somewhere to hear all the tunes very soon. You’ve got the tickets, the tent and that dry shampoo but have you thought about your style?
Everyone knows that festivals and fashion go hand in hand whether it’s Glastonbury, V-Festival or a dance gathering such as Creamfields and despite the unpredictable weather it’s always a good idea to keep up with the trends.
We’ve therefore put together out top five festival must haves, which can be worn as outfits or separates and of course we’ve included those oh so important wellies too.
