Net-a-Porter has a sale going on with up to 60% off, which actually makes some of their designer duds affordable to those of us who can’t shop the runway. Plus, their new $12 ground shipping makes it easier, too. Whenever we hear of a Net-a-Porter sale, or pretty much any sale really, the first place we look is at the shoes. So here’s our top five picks from the sale.

We’ve been known to already have the holiday music station playing in our car, so we’re irresistibly drawn to anything that plays into our festive mood like these cherry red Alexander McQueen round-toe pumps. A hidden platform and seam down the back give these an old Hollywood feel. The $540 shoes are on sale for $324.

First with its Adidas by Stella McCartney line with the golf collection to debut this spring, then teaming up with Y-3, and now signing a four-year deal with Diesel to create Adidas Originals Denim by Diesel. The jeans line will include two men’s and women’s styles and will only be available at Adidas Originals stores, which has many stores across the globe. Stella McCartney’s new eco-friendly LeSportsac line

By Andrea Thatcher on November 2nd, 2007

Stella%20bag.jpg

Long known to animal lovers looking for stylish alternatives to leather bags, LeSportsac seems like the perfect pairing for Stella McCartney’s new eco-friendly line for LeSportsac. The fun and funky designs, like the one from their classic collection at left, are just waiting to be infused with some high fashion.

The 17-piece range for LeSportSac has been designed around Stella’s own lifestyle, so these are really the items that she and her friends would carry when they travel. So you’ll find lots of practical stuff here like stylish laptop bags and camera cases alongside roomy and well-built bags.

As you’d expect, there are no animal products in any of the bags components, and all materials can be recycled. And there’s not a tassel or peace sign in site!

By Andrea Thatcher on November 1st, 2007

top%20ten%20resort.jpg

We’ve languished over the fact that we rarely have anywhere resorty to go that would require any sort of resort wardrobe, but now we’re getting over it and making the best. We’ve chosen the top 10 resort pieces to wear right where you live – to work, to parties, out on the town. We’ve even found some pieces that will help you keep cozy in colder climes. I’m sure somewhere a doyenne on the upper east side is rolling her eyes that we would concieve wearing resort fashions anywhere other than Biarritz, but so be it.

Prada%20resort%20bag.jpg

We love this Prada bag for anywhere any time of year. The leather tote, available at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores, could double as a carry on if you like to look chic in-flight or on the road, and has just enough structure to pull off at the office. We adore the green, but if we were going to spend $1,495, we’d want it in black.

Stella%20McCartney.JPG
At Paris Fashion Week, Stella McCartney showed her spring/summer collection. Full of easygoing flowing dresses in wildflower prints inspired by the ’70s, the models looked like the cast of the musical “Hair.” Her trademark jumpsuits also made an appearance, as well as pajama- and nightgown-inspired garments. The looks would be equally appropriate for an afternoon in the park or a Sunday lounging around in bed. The look above, worn by model Jessica Stam, is the epitome of the perfect spring frock.
