Jimmy Choo announces trainer range

By Andrea Petrou on January 29th, 2010

Jimmy Choo trainers.jpgIt seems the fashion world has gone trainer mad today.

Earlier this morning we reported that Diana Ross and Steve Madden had teamed up to create a range of these and now Jimmy Choo, which is already collaborating with Uggs to create casual footwear, has stepped into the limelight announcing the launch of its street-cool sneaker line.

The brand best known for its gorgeous superhigh stilletoe heels, has created a collection of eight trainers, which include, suede and snakeskin designs finished with gold touches in low and high-top styles.

Could trainers be the next Manolos? And with so many fashionable trainers hitting the shelves will the “no trainers” policy in clubs be lifted?

Diana Ross and Steve Madden team up to create a range of trainers

By Andrea Petrou on January 29th, 2010

Fashion rumours go around all the time and sometimes don’t have an inch of truth in them (take the claims that Balmain was going to launch a lower priced clothing line).

So we’re more than sceptical about the latest on the grapevine. According to WWD, diva extraordinaire Diana Ross, is collaborating with Steve Madden on a range of footwear.

But instead of the glitzy heels or funky platforms (we wouldn’t expect anything less from Diana) the duo have apparently decided that trainers are the best step forward.

And whats more, the range will be sold exclusively in Foot Locker.

We hope if these rumours are true, then at least some of the designs in the collection show some of Diana’s sparkle, or we’ll be very very disappointed.

Olsens collaborate with Steve Madden for Elizabeth and James shoes

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on September 24th, 2008

Elizabeth & James Steve Madden collaboration.jpg

It looks like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are continueing the expansion of their Elizabeth and James line.

After doing a line of jewelry with Robert Lee Morris, the twins are now teaming up with Steve Madden on Elizabeth and James shoes.

The question our friends at Fashionista are asking is will they be affordable shoes a la Madden’s usual sold alongside $700 dresses, or will we be seeing the advent of $500 Steve Madden pumps?

Steve Madden kissed a shoe and he liked it

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on September 16th, 2008

What happens when you put Katy Perry and Steve Madden in the same Lower Eastside Steve Madden store? Well you get music and some very cool shoes! Katy Perry performed live at the store to celebrate the launch of www.stevemaddenmusic.com in June and the I had to share this clip because it has the cutest snippet of Steve singing “I kissed a shoe and I liked it” (at about 1:26 seconds) – we can tell Steve, after all you made quite a career out of it.

Update: Kimora Lee Simmons’ Fabulosity line to feature accessories by Steve Madden

By Andrea Kiliany Thatcher on July 15th, 2008

Steve Madden peep toe shoes.jpg

We just showed you some preview images of Kimora Lee Simmons’ Fabulosity collection, then discovered a rumor that Steve Madden will be producing and supplying all the shoes, bags and belts for the J.C. Penney line.

We think Madden’s styles, like the Glamorus peep toe shown, $89.95, will be a perfect fit for Simmons’ designs.

We might expect more flats and lower heels though, since Simmons does seem to have toned down the sexiness for the juniors fashions.

Katie Holmes is all leg in NYC!

By Elaine LaPersonerie on January 15th, 2008

Despite rumors of her obsession with Scientology, Tom’s controlling ways and a looming divorce– Katie Holmes is doing something right! She looked radiant yesterday when arriving at the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC to tape a segment for Dave Letterman. In a bright red peacoat, round-toe leather heels and what I would bet is a cream mini knit dress underneath; she appeared more than ready to fight off all of Letterman’s intrusive questions. To get Katie’s look, try this back-tab mac jacket for $69.50 from the GAP and Steve Maddens’ Mixup black pumps on sale for $49.99! And to get those fierce legs ladies…join a gym pronto!

Yay or Nay? The Steve Madden Chap

By Elaine LaPersonerie on September 26th, 2007

Steve%20Madden%20Chaps.jpg

A bunch of editors from Elle were talking to me at lunch yesterday about these new Steve Madden Chaps. Supposedly, the “Chap” is in such great demand that stores have been talking preorders! This shoe boasts a leather sole, 4.75″ heel, a hidden 1″ platform and a price tag of $149.95. I guess paired with leggings and a micro-mini, they could be cute. But are they cute enough to be ordering in advance? THAT, I really don’t know.
