CFDA award nominees announced

Talk about a who’s who of American fashion. Tommy Hilfiger, Candy Pratts Price, Diane Von Furstenberg, Reed Krakoff, Carolina Herrera and Francisco Costa all pose for the paps above at the Swarovski and CFDA announcement of the nominees for the 2008 CFDA Fashion Awards at the Rockerfeller Center Rooftop Gardens last night.

The tastemakers fetted’s Candy Pratts Price who will receive the Eugenia Sheppard Award, Carolina Herrera who will receive The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Acheivement Award, on the heels of her nomination for the Fashion Walk of Fame, and Francisco Costa for his nomination for womenswear designer of the year for Calvin Klein.

Fashion News’s comparison of Style Guides by Victoria Beckham, Rachel Zoe & Anne Fogarty

Of course, some of Fogarty’s advice is outdated, but it seems that much of it actually still holds true! Learn Beckham’s, Zoe’s and Fogarty’s take on everything fashion from jeans to traveling to the little black dress. Zoe seemed to agree more with 1950s Fogarty than Beckham on many issues like revealing bra straps, but then again, your fashion depends on the look you’re going for–elegant vs. mod. Net-a-Porter’s Runway by Designer a new way to shop

Net-a-Porter has a new feature called Runway by Designer that’s basically like being able to click and shop on You pick a designer’s runway, like Burberry Prorsum above, and Net-a-Porter gives you pictures of the looks they have for sale. Not only can you just click to get the shoes or outfit you want, but you also get a nice little rundown on the designer’s trends of the season. For instance you can read about Christopher Bailey’s tough-chic collection and advice to accessories with hard-edged extras when you buy the patent leather coat, $5,225, at far left and register for an update when the sandals come in stock. If you’ve got the budget, this could revolutionize how you shop the runway.
