Kate Bosworth feels “strong” and “sexy” when wearing Tom Ford’s clothes.
The stunning actress is a huge fan of the designer’s creations and feels very special when she puts any of them on.
She told Britain’s InStyle magazine: “You put on Tom Ford clothes and you feel strong – and you feel sexy. He has a pulse on the strength of a woman.”
And it seems the feeling is mutual as Tom thinks Kate is a great muse for his clothes, saying: “True great beauties project more than just physical allure. Kate is the ultimate sexy blonde. Audiences want to know her.”
Kate, 28, was recently praised by her stylist, Cher Coulter, for her “effortless approach” to fashion.
She said: “She’s got this effortless approach to style, and never overdoes it. She’s also fun and fashionable and willing to take risks. She’s simple, chic and always looks happy in what she’s wearing.
“We like to get creative with current trends, but Kate has to feel good and comfortable.
“Kate loves denim because it’s easy and casual. She always wears denim to remain comfy while running around town. On the flip side, she also loves to dress up denim by pairing it with a silky button-up and a necklace slung just under the shirt collar. Kate’s a chameleon – she can wear anything!”

Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen is up for the "Designer of the Year" award
This year’s ultimate who’s who of fashion begins as we’ve just discovered who the nominees are for 2011′s British Fashion Awards. Get ready, girls and boys..
The coveted “Designer of the Year” award has three potential nominees: Sarah Burton, who has taken over the helm at Alexander McQueen’s since her predeccessor’s death, Christopher Kane whose collections featured liquid-looking plastic and crochet dresses and Erdem, whose dresses have a delicate fairy-like beauty.
“Designer Brand of The Year” has four designers vying for the award. Burberry, one of London’s favourite fashion houses, is nominated, as is our very own Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham, whose latest collections have proved that the ex Spice Girl is more than just another famous name tacked onto a fashion project. They will all be going up against the right honorable Tom Ford, who has recently returned to designing womenswear.
“Model of the Year” is between Georgia Jagger, Stella Tennant and Kristen McMenamy. Our money is on Jagger to win – our very own little Brigitte Bardot.
Nominated for the the “Accessory Designer” award is Emma Hill for Mulberry, along with Katie Hillier and shoe designer Charlotte Olympia. We adore all three, but how could Mulberry not bag the award? We’ll have to wait and see to find out if we’re right.
This has been such an exciting season for fashion, and we absolutely cannot wait to see who’s going to snatch the most prestigious awards. The British fashion industry is magical, and we can’t wait to see so many of our favourite names honoured with the awards.
To read the full list of nominations, see
here.

The fashion designer Tom Ford has criticised Princess Beatrice’s now infamous hat that she wore to the Royal Wedding.
It’s always scary to have your wardrobe criticised, but having Tom Ford pass comment is scary – this is, after all, the man who’s fashion know-how intimidates even Victoria Beckham.
We all remember Princess Bea’s outfit for the royal wedding as it was hard to miss – the red-headed royal was largely slated for turning up to the nuptials in an eye-grabbing couture Phillip Treacy hat. Tom Ford commented on Bea’s headwear choice: “I’ll probably get in trouble for saying this, but at the royal wedding, one of the princesses wore a now-very-famous (or infamous), Philip Treacy hat – that hat wore her. Now, Isabella Blow, a woman those of us in fashion knew well – had she worn the same hat, it would have looked great. She would have worn the hat. She knew what she was about, what she wanted to express in fashion.”
Take note, Princesses – you have been warned by the main man in fashion himself. Leave the scary couture to the Isabella Blows of the fashion world!

Tom Ford had a “terrible time” at the end of his reign at Gucci.
The 49-year-old designer – who gained international notoriety for turning around the fortunes of the Italian fashion house – left the luxury label in 2004, and admitted he quickly became “bored” after being used to the fast-paced nature of the clothing industry.
He said: “I had a terrible time at the end of Gucci. But most intelligent people need to take time to reflect on where they are with their lives. I was going to play golf. But even though I was pretty good as a kid, I was just awful as an adult.
“I quickly became bored. I needed something to do. I woke up on holiday one day in Mustique and said to my partner, ‘I want to do womenswear again. I want to do my own collection.’
Tom – who launched his self-titled brand in April 2005 – explained he has learned from his experience at Gucci, but it has made it “impossible” for him to do anything on a small scale.
He added to Grazia magazine: “Having worked at Gucci, it’s impossible for me to do anything in a small way. If I am thinking about the Tom Ford woman and wondering what she will wear, I am also wondering what she’ll smell like, what her lipstick will be, what her boyfriends are wearing, what her accessories are.
“I am already thinking about how her home will look, what linen she’ll sleep in. I need a few seasons to get everything working like clockwork, and then you’ll see. There’s more to come.”

Tom Ford Womenswear SS2011
The words “Tom Ford” and “womenswear” are enough to have any fashion-lover worth their salt quivering and shuddering with excitement these days – move over, Mr. Lagerfeld, there’s a new Don of fashion and his aesthetic is much more modern, much less “fashion-bitch on an ego trip”, much more now. (Not to put Karl Lagerfeld down – I still love him obviously.) You know that you’ve got a ridiculous level of fashion influence when you can bossily insist that Victoria Beckham gets out of those sloppy clothes and into something more haute, pronto – which is exactly what Mr. Ford did when he met VB on an international flight recently. Amazingly, she complied. It’s the stuff legends are made of.
Graduating from creative director at both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent to becoming the head of his own brand, Mr. Ford has been primarily known for his impeccably tailored menswear and his directorial debut in last year’s A Single Man, which received Academy Award nominations and is worth seeing for the clothes alone. (Frankly, Colin Firth has never looked better.) But now Ford is set to return to what he has spent most of his professional life doing for other fashion houses – womenswear.
The Spring/Summer collection for 2011 has been very hush-hushed and kept under wraps, but he’s finally relented enough to let the public see the first four official photos of what is his first venture into womenswear for the past six years. And the man doesn’t disappoint. It’s a super-glamorous collection manages to be both sexy and masculine at the same time – he doesn’t have an understanding of tailoring for nothing! The clothes are modelled by some of his muses, which feature Beyonce, supermodel Karen Elson and Stella Tennant. We love, we love, we love.
Check out the gallery above for the first official images of his SS2011 womenswear collection.

Brad Pitt and Angelina made it clear that they’ve got their mojo back at Graumann’s Chinese Theatre for the Los Angeles première of Angelina’s new film “Salt”, and are more of a power couple than ever – while recently in the past, the pair have appeared in public looking tired, tense and strained, yesterday on the red carpet they appeared more in love than ever.
Despite being under criticism for her skinny frame in the past couple of years, Ange looked healthy and radiant in a black, shimmering tube dress from Emporio Armani, with glamour-puss curls and Brigitte Bardot makeup. Other celebrities were copying her look – The Ring actress Naomi Watts wore an almost identical dress in silver. How embarrassing, Naomi. Brad was also looking his old handsome self, having traded in the dodgy mousy hair and beard (yay, he looks like Brad Pitt again) for cool Miami Vice-style aviator shades and classic men’s tailoring in his Tom Ford suit.
Seeing this must be a bit of a kick in the teeth for Jennifer Aniston – Brangelina are looking as hot as they did when they first started getting it on for “Mr and Mrs Smith”. Maybe they look so good because there’s a sequel in the pipeline?

Even at the celebratory Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards last night, the memory of legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent was not far from the industry’s mind.
Inspired by Saint Laurent’s Le Smoking Suit and one of the night’s winners, Ashley Olsen donned a Calvin Klein resort 09 tuxedo. Naomi Campbell topped that by wearing vintage YSL, and CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg also wore the symbolic style including a vintage YSL jacket.

The list of glitterati who will be attending next Monday’s Met Costume Institute Gala continues to be revealed. We already mentioned that our very own Tilda Swinton will be dressed by Miuccia Prada.
Well, no surprises with the latest news that old pals Katie Holmes and hubby Tom Cruise will be accompanied by co-chair Giorgio Armani.

Giannina Facio, producer of the planned Gucci biopic and wife of director Ridley Scott, spilled some more beans on the film recently. It is apparently being held up by the writer’s strike, but Scott has settled on a writer for the screenplay – Charles Randolph who penned “The Interpreter.”
She also said that the actors would not be unkowns, but more likely to be of the A-list variety. Given that Scott has worked with Russell Crowe, Denzel Washington and Julianne Moore, we can certainly expect some big names.
Focusing on Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci, the movie will span the sixties to the nineties and include original period pieces from Gucci’s archives. Of her husband’s talent, Facio told WWD “he’s gonna do in the Eighties and Paris in the Nineties so well.”
