X Factor judge Kelly Rowland loves wigs

By Andrea Petrou on October 13th, 2011

Kelly Rowland is “in love” with wigs.

The When Love Takes Over hitmaker gets her hair-pieces custom-made and has learned over the years the styles that suit her best.

She said: “I’m in love with wigs. I get them custom-made and I have my hairstylist shape them to my head. I can go from long to short in less than a minute.

“I tried a blonde wig once and I looked like I should have been wearing a tacky dress with my legs out. I looked crazy. Even a too-light brown hair colour doesn’t work for me because it becomes the same colour as my face.”

The 30-year-old beauty also admitted she would love to shave her head one day.

She told Essence magazine: One day I’d like to cut off all my hair – really close – shaven to my head. It’s such a really beautiful look.”

Kelly rarely uses hair straighteners any more after her frequent use meant she previously burned parts of her hair off.

She said: “I never want to apply heat every day. I did that before, and lost all my edges.”
