Was I the only person in the world to have not gone to V Festival this weekend? It’s certainly been the only thing anyone on my Facebook has been writing about anyway.

It looks like the line-up this year was absolutely amazing for pop-lovers, with the likes of Rihanna at the top of the billing. Ri-Ri herself was every bit the Bajan vision she normally is in a sexy tie-waist denim shirt and a pair of figure-hugging leather shorts. We couldn’t help noticing that her scarlet hair is gone all of a sudden in exchange for a shaggy, honey-brunette ‘do, which looks great but we’re unsure as to which we prefer..

Jessie J looked radiant and excited to be performing despite her broken leg in a mental Lets Get Physical style panelled bodysuit, with long lilac fringing trailing along the sleeves to compliment her new purple hair. Jessie wasn’t the only one to rock fringed outfits for the festival either, as Katy B performed in a cool black shredded jacket and Noisettes singer Shingai Shoniwa wore a scarlet bodysuit with fringed details..

The festival’s biggest fashion surprise, however, was N-Dubz’ Tulisa in a Jeremy Scott-style one-shouldered dress in a bold animal print. Long gone are the days of baby pink trackies onstage for our new favourite X Factor judge – Tulisa clearly knows that now is the time to have a little bit more fun with her look. Yabbadabbadoo!

V Festival Special: Pixie Lott channels Taylor Momsen’s trademark stockings

By admin on August 23rd, 2010

Could we be hearing more moans of dismay from Taylor Momsen very soon?

The actress, turned rocker, last week had a rant about how pop singers are wearing outfits that are more rocky than poppy and blurring the lines of the music. Talking to Spin Magazine she cited Rihanna as one culprit for wearing “f—— leather jackets,” claiming it was “really annoying.”

So we don’t think she’ll be pleased to see that Pixie Lott channelled her style at this weekend’s V Festival.

Performing at the Hylands site, Pixie went for a cute black mini, which she teamed up with Taylor style stockings. We think she looks great, but what will madam rocker have to say?

V Festival Special: Paloma Faith glams it up

By admin on August 23rd, 2010

Paloma Faith is one of our current fashionista favourites.

She’s cool, sassy and her eclectic style really makes her stand out from the crowd alsways opting for headpieces that rival Lady Gaga’s and wearing bold make-up to match whatever eccentric outfits she’s wearing.

So you can imagine how pleased we were when we saw the singer keeping in with her stylish tradition at V over the weekend.

Ms Faith took to the stage at Weston Park Staffordshire in a red flapper style asymmetric fringed frock and gave it her own special twist with a high crown headpiece. We think she looks amazing.

V Festival Special: Taylor Momsen takes to the stage

By admin on August 23rd, 2010

The disappointing August weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of V Festival revellers this weekend.

Thousands of wellie clad ladies (and of course gentleman) hit the two venues to watch a range of singers including the Prodigy, Diana Vickers and Florence and the Machines. Despite complaining that pop was ruining the “rock” image Taylor Momsen also decided to make an appearance at the festival performing with her band Pretty Reckless.

Shedding her pretty Gossip Girl image the singer went for her statement suspender set complete with a teeny tiny studded corset style frock for day 2 of the Festival at Weston Park in Staffordshire.

Did you watch Taylor perform and what do you think of her outfit?

Let us know by leaving your comments in the box below.

And keep reading because today we’re dedicating ShinyStyle to all the celebrity looks at the festival.

Zandra Rhodes and Millets team up to create a range of funky camping gear

By Andrea Petrou on January 20th, 2010

Zandra Rhodes and camping aren’t two words we’d normally put together but with weird partnerships springing up all over the place (think Lulu Guinness and Comet) the world of fashion is changing.

The designer and Millets have teamed up to create a range of outdoor kit ranging from tents to T-shirts.

Also included in the collection, which has been inspired by Zandra’s love of the Native Americans, are umbrellas, funky wellies and even a designer flask.

Rhodes, who in the past has designed dresses for Diana, Princess of Wales, outrageous suits for Freddie Mercury and stunning outfits for Kate Moss, said: “I’m thrilled that Millets have asked me to create a new range of clothes, accessories and camping kit for them…..It will be great to see my prints reach a new market and brighten up everywhere from campsites to concerts.”
