First Looks: Georgia May Jagger for Versace SS2010

By Andrea Petrou on January 6th, 2010

Last year was a big one for ad campaign announcements.

We saw Lara Stone taking over Madonna’s place for Louis Vuitton and Madonna filling the gap for D&G and we managed to get a sneak peak of both of these last year.

However one shoot we’ve been waiting for ever since we reported about it back in November is Georgia May Jagger’s campaign for Versace and we’re pleased to say it didn’t disappoint.

The campaign shot by Mario Testino, bears a similar resemblance to Lara Stone’s shoot for Louis Vuitton, with Georgia, styled like Brigitte Bardot lying in a range of different poses with different bags.

Is Georgia May Jagger the new face of Versace?

By Andrea Petrou on November 5th, 2009

Georgia.jpgIt seems fashion designers are looking at younger quirkier models to front their campaigns.

Earlier this week we reported that Madonna had been dropped by Louis Vuitton in favour of Lara Stone and it’s now been rumoured that Versace may be following suit.

The gossip grapevine is buzzing about Georgia May Jagger being signed up to model the designer’s 2010 collection. If the rumours are true then it means gorgeous Giselle Bundchen who currently fronts the campaign could be out of a job. Watch this space for more information.

ShinyStyle Golden Globes Gallery: Pretty in pastels

By Kimberley Foster on January 12th, 2009

Dark hues may have been the choice for many starlets, but the Golden Globes were also awash with pastels too. Anyone might have thought it was spring by the way some celebs wore their pretty pale colours. Nudes, soft pinks, pale yellows and blues dominated as the likes of Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore and Salma Hayek took their turns in front of the cameras. [Photos: Jim Smeal/BEI/Rex Features]

Who will be joining Rupert Everett and Colin Firth in upping the star wattage at the White House Correspondents Dinner on the 26th? Donatella Versace.

She and Everett will be the guests of Time Style and Design editor Kate Betts and managing editor Rick Stengal. Do you think Donatella will tone down her look for the land of boxy suits and pilgrim shoes?

Versace’s McDreamy new spokesman: Patrick Dempsey will front S/S campaign

By Andrea Thatcher on December 5th, 2007

If the writer’s strike continues and we have no more Grey’s to keep us warm during cold winter nights, we can at least stare at pictures of a Versace-clad Patrick Dempsey soon. The star of Enchanted, a screening of which he is pictured at, left, has signed on as the new face of the Italian fashion house.

“Patrick represents everything that is great about this collection — he has that confidence, he is completely comfortable in his own skin, which is so attractive. He is the modern man of today and of course looks fantastic in the clothes,” said Donatella Versace.

The campaign was shot by Mario Testino last month and will begin print circulation in February next year.

The second-annual Scottish Fashion Awards were held this weekend at Stirling Castle. Judges for the awards included British Vogue’s fashion director Kate Phelan and Daily Telegraph’s Hilary Alexander. The biggest winner of the night was Christopher Kane, who went home with the Designer of the Year honor. The Scotland-bred designer is only twenty-five and already making a huge splash in the fashion world. He revealed his award-winning graduate collection from Central Saint Martin only six months before pulling off a fabulous collection for London’s spring fashion week last year. Inspired by Versace (Donatella is a consultant) and Alaïa in the ’90s, body-clinging dresses were the item of choice in an array of patterns—lace, mesh—and bright color combinations—red and pink, violet and green.
