Firstly the rumour mill was buzzing that Bruce Oldfield was going to design Kate Middleton’s frock. The after that avenue faded, we became convinced that it was going to be an Alexander McQueen design.
However, with the royal wedding only 11 days away there’s a new designer in the fashion worlds eye.
The rumour mill is buzzing with whispers that Sophie Cranston who designed the black velvet coat Kate wore to the wedding of Harry Aubrey-Fletcher and Sarah Stourton earlier this year, could be the designer to make the frock.
Of course she already has a high profile following with the likes of Emma Watson being a fan, and she’s fast becoming bookmakers favourite to design the frock of the century for the Royal Wedding.
We’ve not got long to wait.
Lily Allen’s wedding dress will be designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
The British singer – who is engaged to builder Sam Cooper – has revealed Chanel designer Karl will create the gown for her special day.
She was spotted visiting the Chanel studios yesterday (07.03.11) and when asked what she was doing there, replied: “I’m here to see Karl for my wedding dress.”
Lily has a history with the French brand, often seen wearing Chanel and even fronting a campaign for the Coco Cocoon bag – although she was eventually replaced by Vanessa Paradis.
Speaking about it at the time, 25-year-old Lily revealed she felt like a “dumpling” while she shot the campaign.
She said: “When Karl Lagerfeld called about the campaign, I didn’t tell anyone because I was convinced they made some huge mistake and that it wouldn’t happen.
“I’m not a model so a Chanel shoot is an intimidating process because I’m very aware that I don’t look like Lara Stone or Kate Moss. I sat there feeling like a suet dumpling!”
Lady Gaga is no stranger to kooky fashion, in fact we’d even go as far as saying she’s the queen of funky clothes.
Therefore we shouldn’t really be that surprised with the choice of outfits that she wore for her concert in Philadelphia.
However, this white wedding style dress is niggling us.
We’re not sure why, afterall it’s hardly the piece of meat she wore a while back, it’s not PVC and posing a danger to her health and it’s not even THAT outrageous.
It may possibly be the fact that it doesn’t tie in with any of her other fashions, or that we would have expected her to wear something like this for her upcoming rumoured wedding.
However, we’re willing to give her a fair fashion trial so we’re opening up the floor t you.
Take a look at her outfit and then vote below to let us know.
Last week we told you Lara Stone had wed David Walliams in an alcohol free ceremony at Claridges hotel. However we were only able to get you snaps of the gold sequined Givenchy frock she changed into for the reception.
But that’s all changed now because we’ve managed to get a full length photo of her original, and wedding gorgeous dress she wore at the ceremony. Designed by Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci the rumoured £30,000 dress was simple, elegant and gave a slight nod to the medeival look with gold edged chain sleeves and gold detailing on the daring lace thigh high spilt.
We have to admit the model looks stunning. Click over to our sister site Bridalwave later on today where we’ll be giving you a Lara Stone get the look gallery.
