Celebrity and designer AW Trends: Feathered dresses as seen on Tulisa, Sarah Jessica, Blake Lively and more
Celebrities are channelling the feather trend in their bucket loads this season.
Taking inspiration from designers such as Chanel and Giambattista Valli, A listers such as Tulisa, Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker are opting for frocks in this birdy fabric, which also gives a strong nod to the 20s flapper vintage trend.
And of course the highstreet is full of these feathered frocks.
Copy Tulisa’s look and go for a dress with a feathered skirt and PVC top – buy the replica from Warehouse – or give a nod to the bridal look with a white feathered skirt and satin top like Sarah Jessica Parker at the British Fashion Awards.
If you want to go all out then follow Olivia Palermo who showed how to wear feathers all over, but be careful, too many and you could end up looking more Big Bird than stylish sista.
See the gallery below for celebrity inspiration and keep reading to see our top five feather frock picks for the Christmas party season.

Nicole Scherzinger started counting calories when she was 14.
Nicole Scherzinger started counting calories when she was 14.
The X Factor judge says she was aware of her body shape from quite a young age and admits it started take over her life.
She told Shape magazine: “I started jogging and counting calories when I was just 14. I’ve been on every diet you can imagine. By the time I was in the Pussycat Dolls, I was on the scale all the time. It became my enemy because I noticed that when I exercised really hard, I’d gain weight.”
However, the 33-year-old beauty says she’s more relaxed with her diet and doesn’t deny herself anything.
She said: “Now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve stepped off the scale. I just go by how my clothes fit.
“I’m more accepting of my body and have learned to really embrace it. These days it’s all about finding balance. My new motto is: ‘Stay active, eat everything in moderation, and stop being so tough on myself.’ “

Rihanna will name her second fragrance Rebelle
Rihanna will name her second fragrance Rebelle.
The singer launched her first perfume Reb’l Fleur earlier this year and asked her fans to vote on the name of her new fragrance in a poll on her website in which 68 per cent chose Rebelle.
The new scent – which has been “built off the sexy back of Reb’l Fleur” – will go on sale in December.
Rebelle will be packaged in a variation of the original bottle.
Fred Purches, chairman and chief executive officer of Parlux Fragrances Inc – which has been working on the perfumes with Rihanna – said the company is also planning on eventually launching a men’s scent with the singer.
Rihanna has previously revealed Reb’l Fleur was a reference to a nickname her grandmother gave her when she was growing up in Barbados, and she has also had it tattooed on her.
The ‘We Found Love’ hitmaker has long been known to mix different existing perfumes to create her own signature scent and said she wanted her own perfume to reflect the her roots in Barbados as well as her life in New York and Los Angeles.
She has described her first perfume as “like high heels with a short, flirty dress.”
Kelly Rowland’s masculine trend as seen on Saturday night’s X Factor
Kelly Rowland won the X Factor judges style wars hands down when she turned up on Saturday night sporting the masculine trend.
The singer who has clearly taken inspiration from the likes of Burberry and Marc Jacobs looked hot in a black tux blazer, white shirt and skinny cigarette trousers teamed up with black court shoes.
To complete the look she kept her hair tied back in a bun. We absolutely love this look so we’ve scoured the highstreet to find the best bits to achieve this style.

X Factor judge Kelly Rowland loves Spanx underwear
Kelly Rowland thinks Spanx are “every girl’s best friend”.
The former Destiny’s Child singer – who swears by the body-shaping underwear – always likes to be comfortable on a night out and so she consciously avoids sky-scraper heels because they make her look “a whole lot of crazy”.
She told BANG Showbiz: “Spanx are every girl’s best friend, I am wearing Spanx right now. Always make sure you’re comfortable in whatever you’re going out in, it’s so important.
“If you’re going out in six-inch heels, make sure they’re ones that you can last at least seven hours in. Because when you start walking like there is a watermelon between your legs because your feet hurt so much, you look a whole lot of crazy.”
In terms of make-up, Kelly – who is currently a judge on the UK ‘X Factor’ – advised a bright shade of lipstick can really make an outfit “pop”.
Speaking at last weeks Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2011 at London’s Banqueting House – where she picked up the gong for Ultimate TV Personality – Kelly explained: “I always choose a great lipstick because it really makes an outfit pop.
“Even if you have an all-black outfit on and you pair it with a bright pink or red lipstick or something, it looks great.”
X Factor 2011: Pics- what Tulisa, Kelly, Janet, Sophie and Misha B wore this weekend
It was a sad night for Tulisa yesterday as one of her groups, Nu Vibe, got sent home. However, there was nothing to cry about when it came to her weekend X Factor outfits.
The judge looked hot in a black dress with a rising hem and embroidered detailing on Saturday night, while a short while netted 50s style frock on Sunday ensured she really stood out. However, she faced fashion competition from fellow judge Kelly who wowed in a gorge red minidress by Todd Lynn on Saturday night and a stunning black dress with sheer panel detailing at the neckline, on Sunday.
And the contestants also showed they had style. Misha B went for a structured purple puff sleeved dress which really made her stand out. Also going for an outrageous look was Kitty who went for a white structured short frock while Sophie played it safe in a slinky red number. Giving a nod to the lace overlay look was Janet while Sami went for a turquoise number.
