Yesterday was the X Factor Press launch in London’s leafy Greenwich, and we couldn’t resist having a gander at the paparazzi photos to have another gawp at our new line-up of judges. Neither could we help staring long and hard at Tulisa Contostavlos’ new hair, which has acquired some yellowy stripy bits in it all of a sudden.
We all know that dip-dyeing (the ends of your hair being lightened for a surfer girl look) is a big hair trend at the moment, but we’re not sure about the streaky chunks of blonde at the top of Tulisa’s hair.. Maybe it’s just us but we thought that streaky hair was finally a thing of the past – but maybe that’s just us. Personally we preferred the N-Dubz singer’s dark chocolatey locks..
What do you think? Vote in the poll below to let us know whether you think Tulisa’s new dye-job is a do or a don’t.
She’s been spotted with it dyed pink and bright blonde and girl’s around the world have sported her trademark short cut.
But she’s also lucked out with a few styles, the mohican being one of them. And we’re not too sure about the star’s latest red colour. Yes it suits her funky fashion sense and makes her stand out from the rest of the pop crowd, but we can’t help thinking it may be a little bit too much.
We’ve therefore decided to get your opinion on this. Is it funky or a failure?
Fur has made a comeback to the catwalk this year, with many designers showing off these fur sleeves and we know it’s now only a matter of time before this trend hits the high street. Although many stores will opt for fake fur to keep costs and protesting down, we think higher end stores will stock the real deal. We don’t have an exceptionally strong opinion on fur but we know many of you do so we want to hear from you. Vote below, and leave your comments and tell us what you think about real fur in fashion.
Ok, so I love knee-high boots and I love open-toe shoes, but together? I’m not so sure. These Open-toe Boots from Arden B. combine both my loves for a look I can only deem as overkill. I like the way these nylon knee-high boots fit very snug against the leg, and they’d look great with a slightly rounded toe, but the open toe just looks odd. It kind of defeats the purpose of a boot, don’t you think? They’re for keeping your feet warm on chilly days while still creating a sexy, stylish look, so we don’t lament the wonderful sandal-wearing days of summer so much… But that’s just my opinion, what do you think?
So, I like the cape trend, but I don’t know about this Kooba leather cape on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue for $486–down from $695. I think it just looks weird–all the zippers and stitching details confuse me. It kind of looks like they un-stitched the arms of a really nice leather jacket to make a cape. I don’t know–what do you think?
Ok, so yes, high-waisted pants are back in, but I think these are a bit much! Ashley Tisdale was on TRL Monday, wearing these charcoal button-accented pants, but they shouldn’t even be called ‘high-waist’–they’re up to her boobs! My grandma doesn’t even wear pants that high… I don’t know, maybe someone else could pull them off though, like Christina Aguilara. Or maybe that’s just the wrong kind of shirt to be wearing with them? Whatever it is, I think she looks terrible. What do you think–yay or nay?
This was just too good NOT to share! Here is reality TV star Chantelle Houghton at the BT Digital Music Awards on Tuesday. For those of you who don’t know her, she was the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2006 UK. I’ll start with the dress because it’s cute and in style and then the shoes and the silver clutch–also totally normal. As a matter of fact, a really easy outfit to replicate for a night out on the town. But then there’s the hair–which looks like something out of a horror film. Unwashed, over-dyed and stringy galore. Someone get her a comb!
Perhaps more 80′s style coming back to haunt us, or taunt a new generation, cap toe heels are everywhere for fall. What do you think of this color-block style? It’s easy to go too childish or too matronly with these designs, so we’d recommend paying attention to the shape of the toe. More modern rounded points or peep-toes are flattering, as are slimmer heels. The pair above, by Guess for $110, are a bit flashy with the loud plaid pattern. What do you say, yay or nay?
Suspenders. They’re cute on the very young – think your toddler cousin in his best OshKosh B’Gosh – and the very old – Santa. But what about those in between? Does model Agyness Deyn pull of the look, above, at the British Fashion Council Fashion Forward party? It certainly is fashion forward, and works for Deyn’s lythe frame with the vintage shirt and slim Preen trousers. And hey, it got her on Vogue’s best dressed list. Have you tried to rock the look? Let us know if you love it or hate it and why in the comments below.
