First Look: Emma Watson’s new ad campaign for Lancôme

By emilyborrett on September 7th, 2011

Emma Watson, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways.. We’re super excited because not only did she dazzle us yesterday at the GQ awards in an Alexander McQueen dress, but we’ve also just seen Emma Watson’s new campaign as the face of Lancôme Paris’ new perfume, Trésor Midnight Rose. And she looks like a dream in the advert!

The ad shows our favourite British actress flitting across city streets with her trademark cropped hair, enchanting bookstore clerks in fedora hats and sizzling at night in a mist of Midnight Rose. How very Lancôme. We’re pretty much sold on this perfume already.

You can check out the new ad in the video below – is Emma the perfect Lancôme cover girl or what? Let us know what you think of the new advert by commenting below.

Britney Spears had a first go with Lady Gaga’s Telephone song

By Andrea Petrou on May 5th, 2010

It seems Lady Gaga‘s music is not to everyone’s taste, especially if you’re a fellow songstress.
The story circulating the world wide web at the moment is that Miss G’s famous Telephone song was actually written for none other than Britney Spears.

The demo of Brits singing the well known tune was leaked on YouTube after the troubled singer decided to turn it down for her Circus album.

It is thought the demo was leaked by a source within Britney’s record company, but it doesn’t seem we’ll be hearing another recorded version of it.

Music producer Rodney Darkchild Jerkins Tweeted about the incident, where he wrote: “Not sure who leaked Britney Telephone.

“Just listened and yes it’s the demo, not a mixed version. I will not leak a mixed version. I am respecting Britney and Jive wishes,” he added.

However every cloud has a silver lining and had Brits taken on the song there would have been any funky outrageous fashion, and no Lady Gaga and Beyonce collaboration.

Listen to the tune below and let us know who you think sang it best.

Shinystyle watch: Coca Rocha gets caught in the (Sister) act

By Andrea Petrou on April 7th, 2010

We love Coco Rocha but sometimes enough is enough.

The recently engaged model has been caught in the (Sister) Act dancing and miming along to Whoopi Goldberg’s ‘I Will Follow Him.’

Now we know we’ve all done it, either at home or at the pub karaoke, but the difference is we aren’t famous and haven’t put our drunken antics online.

We know it was a tribute to your soon-to-be-hubby, James Conran and we’re sure he appreciated it, but Coco we’re cringing for you.

View the video below and tell us if you agree.

ShinyStyle watch: Burberry at LFW

By Andrea Petrou on February 24th, 2010

Yesterday we bought you coverage and a round-up of Burberry’s much awaited London catwalk show, where the brand wowed us with aviation style jackets, furs and flimsy dresses.
However, we know that reading about it isn’t quite the same as seeing it for yourself so we’ve managed to get hold of a video of the show, which was streamed live yesterday.

Have a peak and let us know what you think about the styles by leaving your comments in the box below.

ShinyStyle watch: Behind the scenes Burberry SS2010 campaign with Emma Watson

By Andrea Petrou on January 6th, 2010

Earlier today we gave you a preview of Emma Watson’s new (and second) campaign for Burberry, where she poses next to her brother in a range of the brand’s ss2010 products.

The photos are moody and full of attitude, and it made us wonder whether any of the crew and models themselves had any fun during the day. However, we’ve managed to get our hands on a video, which shows how the photos were shot as well as giving a behind the scenes look. After viewing it we can definitely say there was an air of magic on the set.

Leighton Meester’s new single “Body Control” – listen now!

By Kimberley Foster on July 6th, 2009

Lots of bloggers are talking about Leighton Meester’s new single, Body Control today. The Gossip Girl starlet has been working on her début album of what she calls “sexual electro-pop,” and now a track believed to be on that album has found its way onto YouTube. It’s a little too early for me to make my mind up about it, but Leighton certainly has the pipes to carve a music career for herself. Don’t believe me? Then check out this audio clip of her singing her own version of Bette Davis Eyes. Gwyneth who?

Sneak peek: Carine Roitfeld on CNN’s ‘Revealed’

By Kimberley Foster on March 10th, 2009

Cameras have been following everyone who is anyone around this season. From Coco Rocha for E! to a permanent crew shadowing Anna Wintour’s every footsteps, it seems the key accessory for Fall 2009 might just be a video camera. French Vogue‘s Carine Roitfeld has been the subject of a CNN profile, which has traced her movements around Milan and Paris fashion weeks for its Revealed programme. A sneak peek of that forthcoming show, scheduled to air here on the 18th March at 4:30 am EST, has surfaced online. Click play on the clip above to watch. [via Fashionologie]

YouTube Watch: Express Holiday Fashion Shoot

By Andrea Thatcher on November 12th, 2007

Cat eyes and catwalk looks seem to be what Express is all about for Holiday 2007. I might have preferred some holiday music instead of the techno-y ballad, like U.K. store Marks and Spenser did in their ad. Speaking of the U.K. a lot of these looks seem European-inspired with the skinny stripes and pea coats. What do you think? Are you going to shop Express for holiday frocks?

YouTube Watch: Girls Gone Styled

By Andrea Thatcher on November 5th, 2007

We love Girls Gone Styled and their fabulous YouTube videos from Abby Kalicka and Faran Krentcil, one of the Fashionista writers. We’re choosing to share Episode #6: How to Pack Like a Fashionista because with the holidays coming up most people go somewhere, even if it’s just Mom and Dad’s. The tip on how to pack a coat is definitely being integrated into our packing routine, but we’d be careful putting some toilettries that can spill or explode in your boots, as suggested. We prefer a plastic pocket or Ziplock. As a weird organizational type, I actually love packing (as long as I have the time to make my lists and take it slow) but I know most people don’t, so maybe this video will inspire you!

Britney Spears “Gimme More” video comes under fire

By Andrea Thatcher on October 8th, 2007

Britney Spears is getting a lot of criticism for releasing her supposedly ‘comeback’ video, “Gimme More,” in the same week that she lost custody of her two children. The video, available on YouTube and iTunes, features a long-haired brunette Britney dancing around a pole on stage in bootie shorts and fishnet stockings, while a shorter-haired blonde Britney watches with two blonde friends from the bar. At first, I thought the video quality was just because I was watching it on a computer, but apparently that’s just how the video was made–purposefully to look like a cheap homemade video of strippers with no real dance moves? Ok, Britney does look hot this time, and I do like the song, but I think she could have put a little more effor into this and pushed the release date back a little, too–it does look pretty bad. What do you think?

YouTube Watch: Walk the Catwalk promotes size diversity in the fashion industry

By Andrea Thatcher on October 1st, 2007

Walk%20the%20Catwalk.JPG
Check out this inspiring video on YouTube from Walk the Catwalk. It sends a great message to the fashion industry and consumers about how we view voluptuous women. The average size in the U.S. is a 14, which is what knock-out Marilyn Monroe and other famous models wore. And honestly, I don’t know a single man who wants a stick-thin girl with absolutely no ‘meat’ on her. So, why are women standing for this so-called ‘fashionable’ look, that only an extremely small percentage of women can even achieve?
